    We live within the walking distance from Maneki Neko. Over the past ten years we ordered thousands of dollars worth of food from them, both dine-in and take out. Last takeout order, worth of $96 was missing one of three nigiri sushi. We realized it on the way home, after picking up food. The container had a clear cover, so it was obvious they only put two out of three nigiris. We came back and asked politely to rectify the situation. What happened next was shocking and extremely unsettling. The entire staff, two servers, young male and female, as well as both cooks became extremely hostile, rude and outright unprofessional. They denied their fault, they accused us of opening the container, eating the missing nigiri, and threatened to call a police. I am a strict vegan, accusing me of eating fish sushi is extremely insulting. Not only it is going against all my beliefs, it also insults my entire lifestyle. Not to mention the whole notion of falsely accusing someone of stealing without any proof whatsoever. We are considering defamation lawsuit against the business at this point.They ended up replacing missing $10 yellotail belly nigiri with $7 white tuna sushi, while insulting us along the way, making derogatory gestures and comments, telling us to leave and never come back, doing the clapping gestures and so on.They took our money, while not providing goods and services we paid for, unsulting us along the way, and making all the effor for us to never want to come back to this place. We demand an appology, as well as refund the price difference of the food they charged for, but failed to provide.
