I hired this company to repair the soffit (area along the roof). The repairman completed the job and charged $1,801.43 for 13.5 hours of work. This company charges hourly for service. Three days later, I noticed that the same area that was repaired was again separating from roof. I called Hambleton handyman again and they returned to my home and wanted to charge me more money to do additional repairs again to the same area. They gave me multiple excuses as to why they did not complete the repairs on the first visit- even at one point blaming me saying that I instructed the handyman not to repair that area. Another excuse was the the paint caused the area to separate! All of which made no sense. I felt like they were taking advantage of me as a women who they assume has no technical knowledge and would just accept anything they say. I refused to give them any additional money because repair of that area was what they agreed to repair in the first place. I requested to speak with office manager and I was told there was no one else who could help me. Now I am left with partial repair of my soffit and have payed for an incomplete work. I have paid for 13.5 hours of work on a task that could have been completed in 1/2 the time and they still did not complete the job correctly. The office manager who attempted to negotiate a resolution misrepresented himself multiple times saying that his name was "****". I repeatedly asked for his full name and he then stated that his "real name is *****************************." I simply would like them to honor their original agreement to repair the soffit. Thank you.*************************** ************

I hired Hambleton Handyman (HH) to repair water damage to my condo. HH submitted a proposal on August 30 to remove and replace damaged floors, repair ceiling, paint ceiling & walls, and remove debris. Regarding the floors their proposal stated: Need remove the hardwood floor in entryway, kitchen, hall, and living room, clean and install the new one, also need to carry the trash to the dumpster is charge $125.00 Total labor hours 24- 27 I was advised by *****, manager at HH, that solid wood would be appropriate for my home. I later learned his advise was incorrect. I was advised by flooring specialists the solid wood could not be installed on my concrete sub-flooring. The solid wood had to returned to the store for a 20% restocking fee ($884.20).Their employee, *********, was on the job for two partial work days, 10/23 & 10/24. ********* was unable to remove the large furniture in the flooring areas as HH did not provide him assistance. He stated he did not have tools to cut the flooring and could not proceed without patching old (damaged) wood with the newly purchased wood. He conveyed these issues to HH on a conference call that I initiated. Later that day, ************ of HH informed me that ********* was removed from the job. ***** sent a different employee to evaluate the situation. His "work around" for the flooring mistake was not acceptable according to flooring specialists .HH accomplished none of the tasks specified in the proposal. Their employees did not have the skill set to complete the work despite HH's promise that "master craftsman" would be on the job. I had to expense the return of the wood and hire new contractors to complete the work. I wasted days of hotel relocation time (from insurance company) and many days of searching for new contractors. All this added many days to the repair time and my expenses.I invoiced HH $1424.20. This was a modest estimate. They refuse to pay me and have invoiced me for the "work" of *********.
