    On Friday, I contacted Catamount to remediate mold in my attic, emphasizing the urgency due to insulation installation on Monday. I sent numerous photos showing that the attic was fully demolished with exposed plywood and rafters, and that mold covered an entire approximate 20'x10' slanted ridge wall. I was quoted $700-$1,000 for the job and was charged a $450 deposit.That same day, a contractor was sent out. Upon arrival, he stated the job was "larger than he was told" and that he "did not have the tools for the job." He also mentioned the job would take "2 days." He spent about 20 minutes on-site before leaving. I immediately called the manager, and he assured me that another technician would be sent out and the problem would be resolved before Monday.On Saturday, the "owner" visited the site, re-quoted the job at $2,500 due to what he described as a "more substantial level of mold." Despite my objections to the sudden price increase after already receiving a quote, paying a deposit, and having the first technician visit, I felt compelled to proceed given the urgency.The owner returned on Sunday, worked for 2 hours, left, and charged my credit card the remaining balance of $2,500 five minutes after leaving. Upon inspection, we found a section of the attic that was missed. I contacted the company, and the owner responded, claiming he "fulfilled his obligations" and that he "did not inspect for mold." I questioned how he could quote, let alone increase the quote, without inspecting for mold, especially since the entire attic was demoed and everything was visible.The owner refused to return to complete the job, suggested I "paint the wall myself," and offered a $200 deduction. I explained that I hired them for professional mold remediation, not to do the work myself. He responded, "do what you're going to do, bro," and hung up. The job remains incomplete and the company has refused to rectify the situation despite charging me for an unfinished service.
