      Formally lodge a complaint against Liberty Tax for their misleading billing practices and failure to properly process my tax return with the **** which resulted in penalties and interest charges.I visited Liberty ************ to have my taxes prepared and filed. At no point during the initial consultation or tax preparation process was I informed of the cost for their services. After my tax return was completed, I was presented with a bill for approximately $500.00, which was significantly higher than I expected and beyond what I had budgeted for tax preparation services.Despite my concerns about the lack of transparency regarding the fees, I provided my payment information to Liberty Tax, trusting that my tax return would be filed accurately and promptly. However, after Liberty Tax submitted my tax return to the **** I discovered that they had failed to submit my payment details for the *** payment. As a result, I was notified by the *** that I owe additional penalties and interest due to the delay in payment.This situation has caused me significant financial stress and inconvenience. I believe that Liberty Tax's failure to provide upfront cost information and their negligence in submitting my payment details to the *** constitute unfair and deceptive business practices.I am not seeking a refund; however, I would like to ensure that other customers are well informed about ********************** Tax's practices. My hope is that by bringing this issue to your attention, the BBB can take appropriate action to help prevent similar experiences for other customers in the future.
