In May 2024, I entered into a 12-month contract with WorkPlay Branding for a quarterly photoshoot planning session, photoshoot, and uploading pictures/captions to my social media. They did not do what was advertised. The photoshoots ended hours earlier than I was told. Locations were closed that they said they vetted, so we had to find other locations. The last photoshoot was particularly bad, so I asked for my contract to be canceled. They said that they would cancel my contract and then give me a free photoshoot to make up for the last one. They then charged me my monthly fee, so my contract was not canceled. They also sent me an invoice for $348 for transportation and meal fees for my free photoshoot. They said I could not have the photoshoot unless I paid the transportation and meal fee, unless I wanted to wait for a photographer to be located in *****. They also said they would not cancel my contract, and just turned off the auto-renewal. I would like my contract to be canceled and reimbursed for the $497 they charged me after they said my contract would be canceled.

Between May and June 2023, I received multiple emails from WorkPlay Branding/WorkPlay Method (***) that they provide service to increase social media audience from 0 to ****** in 90 days. I had an informational with *****, one of the *** founders, to discuss and confirm the email promo. She confirmed that *** was able to help numerous clients obtain over ****** audience. I thought the monthly subscription of $497 (strategy) + $297 (write content verbiage) to increase my Instagram audience to ****** + was a good investment. In June, I signed up with ***. The service included one day of photoshoot (photographers used for content) and the team would schedule the daily content post. This was part of their strategy that is suppose to increase my audience. It's been 9 months and I have only 20 people (my friends) on my Instagram. In October 2023, I expressed my concern that their service is not working and I wanted to cancel my subscription. Again in December 2023. I asked for refund October 2023 through March 2024. They have not cancelled my subscription. I filed a dispute for all the charges starting October 2023. *** is luring customers with their false advertisement that they can increase the customer's audience from 0 to ******. Their strategy is basic and similar to what I've been doing on my own before I signed up for their services.

    Dispute BBB

The WorkPlay Method does not claim or advertise that members will receive ****** followers by using our service. The email that is referenced in this complaint is urging our recipient to understand that there are far better strategies to growing your brand than wanting ****** followers and this can be clearly found in the screenshot that was provided in the complaint. We understand that marketing emails can be interpreted and comprehended differently depending on who is reading them. This is why we have a clear contract that states the exact deliverables of what you will get through our service. None of those deliverables include ****** follower growth through social media. The complainant has services rendered throughout her contract thus far. Our service is not a month to month service that you can cancel at any time. It is a yearly service that includes one brand identity (two fonts, five color palette); four brand shoot agendas (a document that logistically plans your brand shoot with us); four full day brand shoots (photography, b-roll video); a team to schedule the photo content that is favorited by the client from the brand shoot to be posted on social media via Instagram and ******** and a dashboard that has on-demand videos for clients to implement various strategies for their brand as well as 1:1 Voxer support, 5 days a week. WorkPlay only chooses photo content that is favorited by the client to schedule posts on their social media. Throughout the contract there was a two month span where the client did not respond to our support messages and as much as we like to support our clients throughout our service, we can not do so if they do not choose to participate in the service.

I am rejecting this response because: If you read WPM emails sent - shared as screenshots in my initial complaint submission - they indicate that they are able to help the customer obtain ****** followers in 90 days. WPM is falsely advertising this to bait the customer, and during the discovery call with Lyrik, she confirmed what was mentioned in the email. I gave WPM 90 days to prove their method and did not see increased following. I've been at 20 followers. I raised my concern to them and that they need to follow-through what they promised. I realized their scheme is a switch and bait, after experiencing WPM's unwillingness to fix this or cancel and refund me

I want them to cancel my account and refund me October 2023 - March 2024 (and other withdraws after April 2024, if they pull money from credit card).

WPM should not be in business. They scam people. I also reported WPM with the State Attorney General of Washington State and ******* State (Lyrik is located in *******).

    Sincerely,

Our response is the same as before.

It is very clear in the complaints screenshot that the email is stating that there are many OTHER strategies to focus on other than wanting ****** followers and we are in fact in that particular email guiding our audience AWAY from that way of thinking as it does not create successful businesses.

This is also stated in our terms and conditions before sign up for our year long service.

We do not ever promise ****** followers or advertise that we will guarantee that.

This can be clearly shown through our social posts and our website as well as the email that was screenshotted in this complaint.

I am rejecting this response because: I already explained myself in previous responses. It appears that The Branding Guru dba Workplay Branding is evading the fact they falsely promoted their service to helping clients obtain ****** followers in 90 days. I signed up for their monthly subsription after confirming verbally (Zoom phone call) with ********************* that they can help me obtain ****** followers. The Branding Guru business model is a scam and I want my money back.

    Sincerely,
