      My husband and I signed up to visit this chiropractor's ******* practice at *********** in July 2022, having been referred by our Healthcare Plan to them being within network. On our first visit, we were informed that our copay would be 35/session and as our plan allowed 10 visits a year, we could prepay 350/person which would be applied to our future visits. We visited them 3 times, and then received an email in September 2022 that they were shutting down their ******* practice. I emailed them asking them to refund the remaining amount from our deposit and was told that they were processing the paperwork on the insurance side. I have emailed once a month every month for an update, as there was no movement from them. I contacted our healthcare provider in February 2023 to open an audit and was informed that the chiropractor had chosen to resubmit the paperwork and until that was done, they could not do anything further. I was also informed that they had settled all claims with the chiropractor in September 2022, that our copay was in fact 25/session and not 35 as stated by the Chiropracter, and there was no reason that we should not have received our refund by now. At this point the Chiropracter has not responded to any emails and still owes my husband and I 275/person. ***** of filing this complaint and lodging a case with the small claims court, we are out of options. I have also been informed by another chiropractor that it was unethical for this chiropractor to take an advance payment and it is not allowed by law.
