    On 04.09.22 I committed to purchase an alpine magnum ***** grinder from Alpine machine for $6,841.50. I made the initial $1000 credit card deposit (see receipt). Over the following 2 months I made several progress payments to complete the balance (See the screen shot of my bill pay). I purchased the machine specifically for a job scheduled on June 27th-28th. ***********************, who owns the business, indicated that he had a 10 week backlog and promised to send the machine in June. I called on June 16th, reminding him that I needed it for a job soon and he responded that he, unfortunately, was unable to send the machine in the original promised timeframe. Since I intended to purchase the machine for a specific job and would not need it otherwise, I emailed him later that evening to cancel the order. He responded the following day, June 17th, via email, indicating he would send out the refund the following week. In the meantime, I began to suspect that I was not going to receive a refund so I cancelled my most recent check of *******. Since then I have called and emailed ***** dozens of times asking him to confirm that he would send a refund for the remaining $4100 balance. I also sent him a certified letter. He mostly ignored my attempts but finally responded on Oct 6th saying there would be a $250 cancellation fee. While I felt that it was puzzling that he would ask for a cancellation fee 4 months after he agreed to refund me, I agreed to it, hoping he would actually send it. Since then I have called and emailed him many times and have not received any kind of response. I am filing this claim hoping that ***** will respond positively and send me the balance he promised to refund. I am happy to withdraw the complaint once the situation is resolved.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. ***** has returned the money. I would like to consider this a removal of the complaint.
