Called to have them service my water heater after moving into my new home, the technician refused to flush my heater and was going to charge me for them to come out. He cited safety concerns with the gas hoses and plugs, as well as it not being secured well enough to the wall with anti-earthquake straps, and the wooden pedestal it was sitting on. Without researching first, I agreed to a replacement water heater installation for $4,759.50. After the work was finished, I spoke with friends and family who informed me this was extremely overpriced. Thus began a long fight trying to contact customer service for resolution, them promising someone would call me. It took 3 months for them to finally call after I called them about 8 times. I felt very scammed. They only offered me $600 to ************* NOT USE A COMPANY LIKE THIS.

I had a maintenance appointment for over a week and a half. Approximately, 20 minutes before the arrival window, the representative called to advise me that she needed to reschedule my appointment because they had a lot of calls and could not come out. What gives Black Hills the right to discriminate against me? I dont want to do business with a company that doesnt take all concerns with the same integrity. Please remove this System.

Black Hills installed a heat pump system for us. Everyone, from the estimator to the installation team, was very professional, polite and thorough. I highly recommend Black Hills for heating and cooling system replacement.

OH. MY. GOSH. I don't think we've ever been dealt with by a customer with such professionalism, or a service tech with such proficiency and politeness. On top of that, the tech turned out to be an old acquaintance who knew me from thirteen years ago! SO cool! **** did a fantastic job with our duct cleaning, and I do mean fantastic. He was exceedingly polite through and through, and it was a great experience. Black Hills themselves were very communicative, with great pricing, quick availability, and ease of communication throughout the process. They have a very polished intake, scheduling, and billing process which just blew me away. We're very grateful - we had a different vendor on the books and SO glad we cancelled and went with Black Hills. As a result, we'll also be going with them for their Comfort Pass monthly maintenance plan. Thank you ****!!! Thank you Black Hills!!!

Our furnace blower motor ******************** and a trainee came out, verified the problem and quoted me a price for ~$1000 for a blower motor. I told **** that I'd been looking at replacement blower motors for around $200 on Amazon and other websites that unfortunately cater only to HVAC professionals. He shook his head and dismissed those "Amazon" blowers. Fine, whatever. I asked if the blower motor model would be on the final emailed invoice, and **** said "sure". They also tried to ***ell me a $300 capacitor to replace the $20 one on my heat pump. Wtf?The two technicians were here for 2 hours, total cost $1200 (all of this is on our security cameras). The motor wasn't on the invoice, so I pulled the model number from the motor itself. A web search shows a new motor of that model between $120-$150. So much better than the $200 Amazon ones I looked at, huh ****? Used car salesmen have more scruples than you. When we called the office to ask for a detailed invoice for hourly work, material cost, etc., we were told they don't calculate "per hour". So how do you calculate it? Do you look around the environment and estimate the highest financial burden the customer can bear? Even at 100% markup the blower motor would cost $300 maximum, leaving $900 for the work. Absolute scum.We asked to speak to someone in management, and we were told (on a Wednesday morning) that their higher-*** were "in a meeting" through Friday. They must be too busy counting their money to deal with customer complaints, it **************************** HVAC is a company of deceptive and smug criminals. Never again will I use this company, and I will absolutely light them up to family, friends, co-workers, and on social media. They are absolute rip-off artists, and their ****** reviews are a sham.Stay far, far away.

Our kitchen counter remodeling left us with a new sink but faucet un-installed. Found online that Black Hills was recommended by ****** so I called them. They said regulation required air vent for the dishwasher so the matching soap dispenser ended not installed. In total we had 1) faucet, 2) air vent for dishwasher, 3) leaking hot water shut off replaced, and 4) purchased a garbage disposal and installed. The total bill amounted to over $3000, is this reasonable. The garbage disposal online costs between $300 to $400. The dishwasher vent, I checked later, was required by regulation only required with new home construction, and our home was built at the 70th. After the work was done, we checked and immediately realized that we were cheated and taken advantaged of. Those two guys left with smog on their face, knowing two senior citizens were not likely to fight them.
