I applied for a personal loan in the amount of $5,000 at 8% interest over two years with monthly payments of $225. I was approved on January 18, 2023. In the conditions of the loan, i had to make a collateral payment or secure the loan with co-signer. I decided to secure the loan with a collateral payment of $675 equal to three monthly loan payments. Im the conditions, I was asked to send the money via money gram or I could wait 5-7 days to have the money directly withdrawn from my checking account. After a week, I called on the status of the withdrawal and was told that the only option was to send a money gram. On Sunday, January 12, 2023, as required, I sent a money gram of $675 to the private investor, **************, and was told by ************************* that the money would deposited in 2 hours - that never happened. On Monday, January 13, 2023, I called ************************* for an understanding to why the loan money wasnt deposited. A gentleman who claimed to be the loan department manager stated that the deposit didnt process because an assessment made me a credit risk - and I was asked to make another $675 payment. When I asked for an updated agreement, I was told thats not how it worked and that I would get a payment booklet on the mail and my payments would start in July because I was making 6 months of collateral payments ($225x6 months). I asked to cancel this agreement and wanted my money back. I was told that it would take ***** days. When asked for cancellation paperwork ending the agreement, I was told that there was no cancellation paperwork needed. When I asked how I would receive the funds back, I didnt get an answer. I believe Plainview Lenders may be a scam. Googling the address (315 *********. **************************, suite 209) doesnt come up with there name (******************************************). Additionally, I cant find a web search on Plainview Lenders other than using the *** www.PlainviewLenders.com. I want my $675 payment back and the company invested.
