As of February 9, 2018 BBB has received two complaints and reports through BBB’s Scam Tracker from consumers alleging after making contact with a breeder to purchase a puppy they are then referred to Pet Transport Company to make delivery arrangements. Consumers allege after paying Pet Transport Company for shipping costs, the company then tells consumers they need to purchase or rent a TSA approved crate and also pet transport insurance which will reimburse them for all of the travel related additional expenses. Consumers are asked to send payment to personal PayPal email accounts and via MoneyGram. After paying for these fees, the company then contacts the consumers again and claims the pet is stressed and requires vaccines, insulin and other medication which they again promise will be refunded through the pet insurance they purchased. The company then alleges the pet will have to be quarantined which will cost the consumer more upfront fees. After this, the company states if the fees are not paid the consumer will be charged $10,000 for boarding of the pet until all accounts are paid. Consumers then allege the pet never arrives and they cannot contact the company for a refund.
BBB could not find a business license for the company in Washington State. In addition, BBB could not find a physical location for the company in Spokane, Washington nor determine ownership of the company. The domain name for this company was registered in August of 2017 and is privacy protected. BBB has reached out to the company and is awaiting a response.
