    The business was hired November 2021 after my kitchen flooded. The floors had been partially removed, and mold prevention treated. This company was hired to replace the floors, the cabinets, and the backsplash in the kitchen. The company, Affordable Contractors, was paid $10,000 by myself, and an additional sum (I believe ******) by my **************** The company spent months and months stalling and delaying. They would finish one thing, and ask for payment. Afterwards a couple months would go by before they would do another thing. Eventually, almost everything was completed by August of 2022. During this time, I was forced to endure without a kitchen, spending $600.00 a week on take out. Additionally, we attempted to sell our home in March 2022 when they said they would be finished in a few weeks, and September 2022 when all that was needed was the backsplash in the kitchen. After another 2 months of asking when the job would be completed, I suggested I find someone to complete the job, since they were finding it difficult to hire someone to do it. I was told I would be reimbursed for the job, as well as an additional $1,000.00 for the (now) year plus it had taken to finish what they were hired to do. After I had hired and had someone finish the installation (in December after months of trying to find out what the allowance was for the install), I spent the next 3 months attempting to be reimbursed. I was told that "money was coming in" 5 times over the course of the 3 months. To this date I have not received the $3,500 owed to me, not including the fact that me and my wife were unable to find buyers for our home due to the delay in repairs.
