On 1/24/24, I went to Bachrodt Baraboo motors. I had a sheet from Carvana..detailing the purchase agreement for the car I wanted at their dealership. But no, for some reason. That car is not available for me. But we can get you a car on your budget!! It has cracked windshield and some other problems. Just sign here. Nothing major, you're good.500. Per month for car payment and insurance and not drivable. First, why is it so bumpy when I apply brakes? Why am I having a hard time on corners? Take it in. Oh, well ma'am those rotors, brakes, brake pads, noises, left turn signal doesn't work. Etc. About 3Grand should fix it. So now I'm going to job interviews and I can't drive my car over45 mph. It costs ***** in brake fluid to drive to from ****** to ********** and back. It oozes brake fluid out the right front wheel. Idk why it needs transmission fluid too. But it does. If you plug your phone in for charging..it shorts out the radio. Battery probably ok . But the wires underneath going into the battery box!! Some drunk dude got a hold of electrical tape and wound it all around all sticky and shoved it in there. It's bad. So I spent ***** in brake fluid and drove that car 50mph with the hazards on. I drove it to Bachrodt motors. Gave them the keys, spare, remote, registration, original paperwork and told them I have been very seriously misrepresented. I told them they owe me 1850.usd. And that they need to call the finance company they assigned me to. Because Bachrodt now has complete possession of the car. I'm not paying for it anymore.I left. 1010am on 31 July 2024 Bachrodt has the 2012 ***** Malibu, black. I called CPS and told them I no longer own the car. I'm not paying. I have no car. No job cuz I can't show my employer reliable transportation.

We do have cars that are sold As Is.  These are considered budget vehicles and come with a detailed list of suggested items that we recommend repair on.  Customers receive a copy of this list and sign a copy that we retain with the rest of the paperwork.  After speaking with **************** this morning, we did look at the vehicle in our shop and determined that the repairs that had been suggested were likely the cause of her issues and were now more extensive than when we sold her the vehicle.  We have also been in contact with the loan company and informed them of the location of the vehicle.  It is our intent to be transparent with As Is vehicles as a low budget option that gives the customer the information they need to either do the suggested repairs themselves or pay to have them done at our location.  That is why we itemize everything and give the customer the information with their paperwork.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Good God. Just outright open ripoff CarLot with absolutely no remorse. They all drive nice Jeeps. And they rip off other people to pay for their Jeeps, and upgrade their showroom.

    Thanks so much.

I have taken my ******* to Bachrodt Baraboo Motors for maintenance for a while with several disappointments of late. First was a charge of over $500 to replace the battery which I have received a partial refund since (although the battery still cost more than $200 more than their estimate). Today, I took the ******* there with the issue of the car quitting in the hot weather when stopping at stop signs or slowing. That told me if they could not diagnose the problem I would need to take the car to a ******* dealership which wouldve been fine by me. Unfortunately for me, they told me the problem was the crankshaft auto sensor which was causing the car to quit when hot. This sounded reasonable to me in theory. But after they replaced it and said everything appeared to be okay and charging me $557.02 they gave me the keys and the car quit three more times before I could get to the street. Not only was the problem not solved it seemed to be worse! I am looking for another partial refund as I still need to get the car repaired and I cannot afford to finance phantom repairs from Baraboo Motors.

July 10 I visited the company and they broke my oil housing while performing a $70 oil change. They refused to return my car to me and that I had to get it fixed there. The mechanic in a written statement admits he broke the part. However, the service director is claiming it was the wrong part, if it was the wrong part that had broken, ******* wouldn't have performed the warranty exchange, and other mechanics would have broken it before now, not to mention if there was a wrong part they should have alerted me before breaking it. They have made no attempts to do anything but scream at us, so now I am here. If you break something thats on you to pay, I want my $561 back, they also performed extra services without confirming if this was okay or the amount. And for them not to refuse the return of vehicles to other people.

We did work on this vehicle on July 10.  When ************** opened the oil cap the spring came flying out of the oil cap. When our service advisor spoke to the customer and her mom, we were told that they had that housing replaced by a mobile technician 2 months ago and the part came from Oreilly Auto Parts.  We then ordered a replacement part that was covered under warranty from Oreilly's and realized that when we got the replacement part from them that it was the wrong part on the vehicle the whole time that was replaced by the mobile technician. We then ordered the correct oil filter housing from Oreilly's and installed it. We did have to charge the customer labor on this since only the part was covered under warranty. If the customer would like to be reimbursed they would have to go after the mobile technician that originally put the wrong part in.
