      I contacted Ahern to replace a shower nozzle for one bathroom. I had them arrive as promised and the plumber completed this request in 20 minutes and was leaving my home when I called and asked him to replace the other shower nozzle not on his work order. He stated he would have to swing by the office less than 2 miles away. He did so and returned in under 20 minutes. Then exactly 19 mins later he left my home. I thanked him for his quick service doing everything in under 1 hour. Fast forward to getting the bill. $376 is the demand for 1 hour 30 minutes. I called to complain about the overbilling as he entered my home @ 8:35 am and left at 9:35 am and should only be charged for 1 hour. This shady operation tried to tell me I should pay 54.00 extra for labor as he had to travel to my home and that is when the labor charge started. Then he says to dispute it however you want. I'll refer it to collections if you don't pay and hung up on me. I'm not done talking so I called back. They let it ring for 10 or more times hoping I would give up. Finally, Mike answers the phone. Mike claims he overheard the previous conversation and he stands behind the previous rep's comments claiming this is how we've done it for 40 years. Mike quickly becomes very rude and says "In what world do think it should all fall within 1 hour if you had the plumber leave and return?" I said in a world where you bill by the hour and give me 20 minutes. I told Mike he was crazy if he thought I would send a check for the full amount less our disputed amount of 54 + tax. Mike responded with "your clearly the one who is not in their right mind and has no idea of how plumbers work". You'll just pay it or I'll put you collections. I hung up on Mike telling him to **** ***. It's a sad world when customer service is dead and people feel the need to steal from customers and overbill. This could have been resolved properly but instead, they hired poor employees.

      Our plumber left the shop at 8:22 and arrived at the job site at 8:35

      He left the job site at 9:01 and arrived at the shop at 9:12 to get materials he needed for the second job that was not included in the original service call. He then left the shop at 9:14 and arrived back at the job site at 9:28. He left the job site after completing the second service call at 9:36 and arrived at the shop at 9:44.   Total time to complete both jobs is 1 hour and 22 minutes. He was billed for 1 hour and 30 minutes rounding up to the next 1/4 hour. Technically we could have treated the second call as another service call and he should have been billed for the 1 hour minimum for each service call. I believe we were more than fair to charge him for 1-1/2 hours. His contention is that he shouldn't be charged for any of the time to go back to the shop and return to do the second service call.
