5 starsWe used Nakielski Construction to help bring a new vision of our backyard to life. We knew we wanted our deck replaced, a new patio added, and privacy fence for a spa. Before any work got started Mark was very easy to talk with about what we were trying to achieve and was very helpful at making it come to life. Once the work started he kept us updated throughout, was very responsive to any questions/concerns, and the job was completed in a very timely manner. The final result is something we are incredibly thrilled with and would gladly use him again for any of our projects. Even after the project was completed we needed assistance with moving a spa that was delivered to our driveway to the backyard and he gladly sent his crew to assist us.Review fromPatrick R.

5 starsMark is the best. He is able to find the root cause of problems, fix them correctly, and identify any other areas that will likely cause issues. For example, we had a leak around our chimney. Mark was able to quickly address the issue and identified the cause as improper siding installation, which was subsequently addressed. Not only is his team able to do the work, but he also identifies where costs can be saved by reusing salvageable materials or ordering exact match (or at least super close to) materials as needed. Very thankful for his team as I know the work is done properly at a fair value.Review fromRay G.

5 starsWe have worked with Mark ********* on three projects: an exterior staircase, an interior window replacement in a bathroom shower, and a year later, a follow-up partial primary bathroom remodel in which he did demolition, shower paneling over an existing tub, and floor tiling. All have gone to plan, to schedule, and to expected cost. In particular the bathroom remodel completed recently involved a short time frame and coordination with a plumber, to minimize the down time for our only full bath to under a week. He worked with us on material estimation and planning details, to ensure everything would fall into place within the best of everyone's knowledge. He extended work on two days to meet the schedule, and was very interactive throughout the process. We are extremely pleased with the result of all three projects. The garage exterior staircase is built to last, and Mark did extra work on a paved landing to ensure it was up to code (which the previous staircase definitely was not meeting). The window install was done in a day, and has worked extremely well in our shower. And for the recent bathroom remodel, the panels were precisely cut to match existing walls, ceiling, and openings; seals and glue work were done expertly, and the patterned floor tile with edge and step trim were done with great attention to detail.Review fromKendra H.

We hired Nakielski Construction to redo a shower stall and a tub/shower combo and it ended up being one headache after another. From ordering materials to installation Mark over promises and under delivers. We started working on the project in June and did not complete it until November. Initially, he said it would take 7-8 days to complete, and it ended up being 12 days over five months. We ordered custom shower panels and during the installation process three panels were cut incorrectly and two of them had to be reordered which took several weeks to get in. The second time a panel was cut incorrectly, I tried to discuss ways we could salvage one of the panels, so we could continue with the project, but Mark wouldn't even have a conversation with me. When the third panel was cut incorrectly, Mark did not say anything and just installed the panel and tried to cover it up with silicone. At this point, I decided it was not worth tearing the panel out, ordering a new one and having it installed again, because there was no guarantee they wouldn't cut it wrong yet again. I understand mistakes happen, but cutting three panels incorrectly is an indication that they are not being very careful. Mark would also leave the job site and not provide an update or indicate when he would return. He just left his guys to continue working, but they did not speak English, and I was unable to communicate with them. This was a problem when the first panel was cut incorrectly, because Mark was not there to make sure they were cutting the right panel, and it was also a problem when they were doing demo on the tub/shower combo and broke a water pipe. They did not shut the water off during demo so water sprayed everywhere and there was only one guy there at the time, and I didn't know what was happening and he couldn't communicate with me. Overall, this project did not go well, and I would not recommend Nakielski Construction to do any interior remodeling projects.Nakielski Construction & Services LLC

It is unfortunate that I have to respond to this in such lengths, but tarnishing my name in such a way is something that I cannot allow. This project did start in June and did end in November, but Mrs. ***** understood the reasoning because of her desire to eliminate a bumped out wall which we could not discover if it would be possible until demo had begun. This in turn delayed the material ordering process to get the proper shower base size for that bathroom. The original project did take 4 days longer than expected. However, this was explained to Mrs. ***** that it had to do with two tub/shower areas that were not level, square, and had extra work involved (which Mrs. ***** was not charged for). With regards to panels being cut wrong, I had apologized to Mrs. ***** several times. To compensate for the delay in the project, she fails to mention that she had received free work because of this. She received a new shelving system using Onyx panels that I had paid for, a new backsplash behind her stove, and miscellaneous items fixed in her home that were also not apart of our contract nor anything we had touched prior to fixing them for her. The fact that I have to type this to defend myself against lies is quite aggravating. We did communicate about trying to still use a miscut panel, but that idea of hers also included an extensive amount of work in addition to our contract which she wanted me to pay for, so I declined. I was already giving so much extra. To the response of leaving my crew on a job site while I wasn't present. This is standard practice. I am the boss, and in my position there are times in the day where I might need to respond to emails, order materials for the next job, coordinate deliveries, and so on. My crew is trustworthy or else I wouldn't leave them alone for parts of the day. Once again, it is unfortunate to have to defend myself against a review that contains half truths, some flat out lies, and left out information. I had sincerely apologized to Mrs. ***** for the delay in the project and thought with all the extra work given at no additional cost, not to mention a final payment discount of $500.00, that Mrs. ***** was content. I was mistaken.Kendra H.

I agree with Mark's statement that the demo needed to done in June in order to determine if the shower stall could be enlarged. The demo took place at the end of June, but he did not get material ordered until early August, which was the start of the delays. As far as the statement regarding the areas not being level or square requiring extra work, as an experienced and licensed contractor, that should be something he comes across frequently and should account for when bidding a job. Mark did apologize for cutting the first two panels incorrectly, but did not say anything about cutting the third panel incorrectly and just covered it up with silicone. As for the free work, Mark did cut up the unusable panels to make some shelves and a small backsplash for behind the stove. This occurred after the second panel was cut incorrectly. I would have preferred to find a way to use one of the panels to finish the project versus cutting up the material for shelves. Mark did pay for two replacement panels, but since they were ruined by his crew that should be his responsibility. As for the statement about miscellaneous items Mark fixed in the home that were not part of the contract nor anything they had touched prior to fixing them, is incorrect. There were two towel bars that they removed during the installation process and I asked to have them put back up. Unfortunately, one of the towel bars went missing and I had to purchase a new one. The only other items that Mark installed that were not part of the contract, were two hooks and a toilet paper holder, and he tightened a hand towel ring. Mark's comment about the communication regarding using the miscut panel, is not totally accurate. I was trying to find a solution so the project could move forward, he did not explain that it would include an extensive amount of work, He preferred to order a new panel and I was trying to avoid another delay.Kendra H.

It would have been nice if **** had taken a few minutes to discuss any options, but he was more focused on cleaning up the job site and leaving. I understand that leaving a crew on a job site is standard practice. My point is that **** would leave without giving an update or indicating when he would return and I was unable to communicate with his crew, so it was difficult to know what was going on. Once I realized that the third panel had been cut incorrectly, I could have asked **** to redo the third panel, but that would have meant tearing out the panel, ordering a new one and waiting for it to be installed and I did not have the confidence in **** or his crew that they would do it correctly. I requested a discount on the final payment due to three panels being miscut, which caused multiple delays and because **** did not say anything about the third panel being cut incorrectly and just covered it up with silicone, as well as finding a fairly deep scratch on the new bathtub they installed. Cutting one panel incorrectly is a mistake, cutting three panels incorrectly indicates carelessness and is not acceptable. Any information omitted from the original review was due to the character limitations on the BBB's website which restricted how much I could say.Kendra H.

Response cont'd. I understand that leaving a crew on site is standard practice. My point is that **** would leave without giving an update or indicating when he would return and I was unable to communicate with his crew. I could have asked that the third panel be redone, as well, but I did not have the confidence in **** or his crew to do it correctly, so I requested a discount on the final payment due to the third panel being cut incorrectly and **** failed to say anything and just covered it up, as well as there was a deep scratch on the new bathtub they installed. Upon my request, **** offered a $500 discount.Review fromMark D

5 starsI recently hired Nakielski Construction to resurface my deck and I couldn't be more pleased with the results! The entire process was seamless, from the initial consultation to the final walk-through. Mark was professional and transparent about costs, which I really appreciated. The team worked diligently and transformed my old wooden deck into a beautiful composite one that will last for many years to come. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and they clearly paid attention to every detail. I would highly recommend Nakielski Construction to anyone looking for quality and reliability in deck resurfacing!Review fromNiel M

5 starsMark ********************* and his crew of two completely removed our old 12 X 12 foot 27 year old wood deck at the rear of our home and replaced it with a new same size wood deck with a wood railing and new stairs in one day! The quality is outstanding. He used green treated wood. When he was out to give us an estimate he said he would complete the deck prior to the 4th of July. With all the rain, we didn't believe it could be done. But, he did it! All our relatives that came over on the 4th gave us nothing but compliments. It was a happy day! Thank you Mark. I would recommend you to anyone without hesitation!Review fromJames F

Mark ********* helped us plan a hand railing project for the front walkway and stairs at our home. His prior experience was a big help to us. He advised us on materials and provided a complete estimate with a timeline for completion. We signed a contract. After he received the railings from his supplier, Mark called and set a date for installation. Mark and his assistant arrived early on the scheduled day. The railing was installed in one day. The quality of the work and the end result were excellent. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the process from start to finish. The project was finished a week ahead of schedule.
