Went for an eye exam and ordered new glasses. That all went fine. I should not have asked them to clean my current glasses. I didn't notice until I got home that there was a great big scratch on the inside of the right lens. When I called to inform them of this, they told me they couldn't do anything unless I came in to show them. I got a ride to and from my appointment, so I didn't think I'd be able to come in right away, but I thought the longer I wait the more likely they are to blame me for the scratch. So I hopped on my bicycle, today when the current heat index is 96 degrees, and rode down there. When I got there, I noticed even more damage to my lenses. They examined them and told me glasses get scratched. I assured them that they were nearly perfectly not scratched that morning when I cleaned them, as I'd been doing for 5 years. One trip to this place and they get manhandled. I'm very disappointed.Shopko Optical

Went there to schedule a regular eye exam. I called ahead to make sure they took my insurance. I spoke with who I thought was the manager. Her name was Amanda. I had heard multiple great things about her and reading the reviews on google she seemed like the one to go to. When I arrived I wasn’t expecting to see what I did. Come to find out she was not the manager. His name is Brandon and he was publicly humiliating Amanda in front of a lobby full of waiting customers and 2 coworkers. It was very unpleasant and disrespectful. I waited and listened to him yell at this young woman for five minutes. Will not be going back and I hope someone else comes forward. No way to run a business. Ruining the Shopko name here in ******* that’s for sure. Nobody wants to go to a business where people aren’t treated well.Shopko Optical

I give 1 star because it is as LOW a rating as you can give. 4 years ago I had issues with Sopko Optical. Issues 2 years ago, the only reason I came back a third time is because I'm on ******** and they accept my Insurance. What a joke! 7 to 10 business days to receive my glasses that I'm still waiting on 3 weeks later. I can only imagine what issues I will experience when they finally do arrive! Do yourself a favor, GO ANYWHERE ELSE !!!Shopko Optical

As I Expected ! I was not happy with the frames I purchased so I returned to the store to pick a different frame. Well I got the new glasses and bifocal on lenses were not right! We live 45 minutes away from this store. Our initial appointment was great. Everyone was nice. Between 3 of us we ordered 5 pairs of glasses. We got a text the glasses were in. We went to the store and my 1 pair was in. My son's were in and a pair of safety glasses were in. Not the ones my husband ordered. They put in the new order no problem. About a week later we get a text that the rest of the glasses were in. We drive the 45 minutes. My husbands safety glasses are now correct but his glasses and my 2nd pair are the wrong onereturned mine. My husband reordered his. Another week passes and we get a text they are in. He drives the 45 minutes to find out the frames are in but not the lenses. So now we have to wait again and drive the 45 minutes again to hopefully get the correct glasses. On top of that, as welook closer at the receipt, my sons glasses were not run through the insurance and we paid full price. When my husband pointed that out today, they tried running it through and it now says he's not eligible until 2026.Shopko Optical

I should have read the reviews. Went to my local office in Dec 2024 to get new glasses after a long time with an old prescription. Technician seemed educated and walked me through the virtual appointment. I spent $600 out of pocket for new progressive lenses, with the least amount of distortion and blue light protection. Insurance covered the remaining $400 for the exam and frames. After receiving my new lenses, I was told to give it 2 weeks to adjust. I struggled the entire 2 weeks. Went back to have everything checked and they tweaked the prescription and location of the progressive part, but assured me I was seeing 20/20. They informed me the location was closing and I was happy I could get the replacement lenses in time but would have to go elsewhere for the dilation. New lenses were better but I still struggled. Went to a different doctor today and was told my right eye was wrong (20/30) and had to order all new lenses for another $600 out of pocket since insurance already paid for the previous set. Unless I want to travel 2 hours one way to the next closest Shopko, I cant get a refund. Seriously regret coming here.Shopko Optical

I was able to talk with her on 2/28 and walked through the next steps on refunding the lenses she purchased. I have worked with our insurance team to reinstate the benefit as well as refund her via check for the out-of-pocket expense on the lenses. The check typically takes ***** days to arrive. I trust and respect my eye doctor April **** at Shopko Ashwaubenon location however, the rest of the business at this location continues to be problematic. Most of the employees are incompetent to say the least. I have never purchased eye glasses that were correctly made. The last pair I purchased I ended up having to go to another store to have them adjusted as the personnel at this location did not have the know how. The last two scheduled appointments were incorrectly logged and both times the store managers acted as if it was an error on my part. Today was the last time I will visit that store or any other Shopko Optical store. I showed up for my annual eye exam appointment today and once again was told I missed my appointment as they claimed it was scheduled for 03Nov.. I asked how can that be when I called to schedule the appointment after 03Nov. He smugly replied "you missed your appointment ". What a joke!!!! Needless to say, I will not do business with this compnay anymore.Shopko Optical

Would give 0* rating if I could. I took my son there for an exam to get a new glasses and contacts prescription and we were there for over 2 hours. We were advised that the actual appointment with doctor would be virtual, but would only take one hour. The technician was very nice, but clearly had no idea how to preform the tests/screens or connect to the doctor virtually. Long story short...we were told that my son likely had glaucoma. He is 16 with NO family history on either side of glaucoma! Important to note that my son received 6 puffs in each eye for the pressure test!? We were also told that my son had developed an astigmatism and that his contact lens prescription went from ***** and ***** to -.75 in both eyes. When I questioned the doctor how his vision would have improved, he told me that is not what that means. We took my son to a different eye doctor (not through Shopko Optical) 3 days later and found that he did not have high pressure in either eye. He did not have an astigmatism in either eye. His contact lens prescription actually got a little worse and is now ***** in each eye.Shopko Optical

I had an eye exam at your location in ****************, ** in December of last year. i was unable to decide at the time what i wanted so i took the copy of my prescription to the ********** location and ordered a pair of glasses. When they were ready i had someone else pick them up for me. Upon trying them on, i could not see clearly out of them. i called (dont remember which location) and was told because the change in my prescription i wouldnt be able to see close up. I never had a problem seeing with my old prescription other than small print, but i was able to see my phone and computer. I was told all they could do was offer me another pair for half off within 30 days.I was never offered a new check up or a refund. I tried them many times and i just couldnt see so i continued to wear my old ones, even though they are very scratched up.i went in to the marshfield location last week because im having problems with blurriness and had another exam because my insurance would cover an exam (new year). I was told that my new prescription is wrong and my old presription is more accurate.I could order a new pair with the correct presciption. My insurance will not cover a new pair until January and it was their error, not mine. I paid $460.00 for these. I cannot afford a new pair.I am very upset. I think a new pair with the correct vision without charge should have been offered.Also I was told my close up vision had changed and was given my new prescription so i stopped and picked up a pair of readers with the updated presciption and they are totally blurry. Got my "new glasses" a week after a TWO HOUR vist there. The NEW RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE glasses (never padi this much for any basic glasses and frames before, ever) : there is nothing for a presciption in the lenses-simple plastic like a blank off the shelf. DOES NOTHING formy sight. I work long hours and am expected to go in to return them and spend hours waiting in line again for nothing. Wasting my time when I also have a business to run after my work day.Shopko Optical

Bad experience! Poor customer service! I had my eye exam June 4th and at that time I ordered frames and lenses. I was told that it would take two weeks for my glasses to be in. On July 26th, three weeks without hearing from Shopko Optical, I called to check on the status of my glasses and was told that they were not done yet and they were having problems with the application of the coating. I was told that it would be a week longer. Again, after two weeks, this would be July 8th, and not hearing from Shopko Optical, I called again and was told that they were finally being shipped and would arrive on July 10th. At this time, it was already three weeks past the original due date. On the 10th they finally called me to tell me my glasses had arrived, so I went to pick them up after work. They handed me my glasses and when I put them on, I could instantly tell that something was not right. I could not even read the signs that were on the desk in front of me. The attendant took them in back and after several minutes a technician came out to where I was sitting and went through several tests with me. She determined that the prescription and pupal positions were not correct and that they would have to be re-done. I was told that the updated glasses were going to be expedited and should only take a week. On July 24th I was notified that the glasses were done which I picked up two days later. They were correct this time. Total time waiting six weeks!I only received a 20% discount off the glasses, not the total bill. I also had to ask the attendant for a case for my glasses since I was not offered one. One last note - each time I went in the attendant was on his phone and gave me the impression that he was annoyed by having to put his phone down and attend to me.Shopko Optical
