  On 08/22/2023 i had paid Chaney's Auto Repair and towing ,LLC $1,670.42 to repair a car. A mechanic forgot to install a piece during the repair causing the engine of the car to blow up 3 miles after pickup. the shop then charged to tow it back to their location and refused to fix the problem which was caused by negligence on their behalf. I would just like a refund and would no longer want any service from them. I have the invoice number *****.

  Dear Sirs:

  We are in receipt of a complaint from ** ***** dated 9/28/2023 ID # ********. This vehicle was towed in around August 10, 2023. Mr. ***** told me it was at the ************ park & ride at Rt. 213. Actually we found the car at the other end of 213 in ********** so we had additional time and mileage spent to find and tow it in. It had no Air conditioning as the compressor had locked up. The parts were ordered and arrived on August 14. We completed the repairs and had it ready to go on August 22. After multiple calls to Mr. ***** and ** *****, He finally came to pick up the vehicle on September 22. He brought $1600.00 cash. He said we would have the balance in a couple months. The completed vehicle sat here for a month-waiting for payment and pickup. We do not have charge accounts and we expect payment upon completion on the job when the vehicle is picked up but we agreed. A few days later Mr. ***** called and said the car is blown up. I told him that we would be happy to verify that but would not commit to anything without checking it over. He said he had *** towing so I told him to have it towed in and we would check it out. He DID NOT have it towed in. We are unable to verify that it is "blown up" as it was running when it left our lot. We did nothing to the oil lubrication system in this vehicle. The only job we did was install an air conditioning compressor end condenser. Neither item would cause a vehicle to blow up.

  Therefore we did not charge Mr. ***** to tow the vehicle back in to verify the problem and we did not refuse to repair the issue. He also did not pay $1670.42 on August 22 since he did not pick up the car and only pay $1600,00 towards the bill of 1670.42 on September 22. I will enclose a copy of the receipt showing the date the cash was received.
