Attorney General Patrick Morrisey vs Jason Andrew Sansom, d/b/a J. Andrews Revive and Design, and J. Andrews Design LLC
The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government's allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On October 6, 2022, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey filed a civil lawsuit with Putnam County Circuit Court against Jason Andrew Sansom who operated J. Andrews Revive and Design, and J. Andrews Design, LLC. The lawsuit accuses Sansom of failing to have proper licensing, multiple violations of the West Virginia Consumer and Fair Practices Act including: failure to provide a notice of the 3-day right to cancel, failure to complete work by the date promised, unfair and deceptive acts or practices, and false advertising. The lawsuit charges Sansom took consumer's money and did not start or finish home improvement and other projects and contracted with consumers on projects he was not licensed to perform. The lawsuit seeks to permanently prevent Sansom from engaging in home improvement or contracting services in the state, awarding the State a judgment in the amount representing all payments collected by Sansom directly or indirectly from consumers to be used to pay to complete the work or repair damages to property caused by Sansom, as well as a civil penalty of up to $5,000 for each violation, and reimburse the state for all costs.
