      Date service rendered: October 25-28, 2021 Money paid to Smith and Sons: $12,000 I hired Smith and Sons Paving on October 25th to pave my driveway and install 2 couldrons in a bridge/creek that runs through my property. In April of 2022 I noticed my driveway was cracking, breaking, weeds growing up threw it and sinking. The Area where the couldrons is the worst of the sinking and I worry it is only a matter of time before the driveway breaks away in that area (the sinking can be seen in the images below). In one of the images below you can see where the Asphalt is poured less then 3 inches outlined as the contracted depth. I texted/ called Smith and Sons May 21st for the first time to have the repairs made within the 1 yr warranty outlined in the contract below and was not contacted back. I texted and called several times from May- August. I sent emails, and ******** direct Instant Messages. I still have not heard back from this company. On July 20th and 22ed i sent the ******** IMs to the company, ******** indicated that the company reviewed my messages but again did not contact me back. All attempts to contact this company have failed.

      It has been 5 weeks to the day that I have contacted Smith and Sons Paving almost every single day for the past 5 weeks. I haven’t gotten a reply via message or a call back. The work done does not meet Virginia standards. The asphalt laid has no base layer and the asphalt isn’t the industry standard of 2 to 4 inches (it’s not even an inch). I can push it with my thumb and create indents. My wheelbarrow legs have left indents in the pavement from it being so thin. Grass is busting through. They also did a patch job where old, cracking pavement was cut out and then went back over the cutout. That section is peeling. You can put your fingers under it and pull it up like clay on a table. I also had them do a hot coat over the existing driveway and they didn’t even clean the driveway. They just sprayed over the bobcat and backhoe tracks so now I have dirt tracks permanently running through my driveway. Additionally, when the work was being completed, one of their works fell asleep / passed out / was under the influence in the skid steer ****** and the machine was on. The machine was bouncing all over the place right in front of my mailbox and I had to risk going over there and waking him up and making sure he was okay. The contract signed has a 1 year warranty but it doesn’t seem like they are going to honor it since I can’t even get in touch with them. This entire experience has been an absolute nightmare. I wish I had looked Smith and Sons Paving up when they had come knocking on my door to do work through the neighborhood because I would have never accepted their services. Nevertheless - a contract is to be honored and a warranty is to be honored.
