      I bought a trailer from RCJ Motor Edmonton on June 29, 2022, I paid 1000.00 cash deposit plus $22,699.00. I asked several times if the trailer was certified and the sales team assured me it was certified, When I went to pick up the unit it was winterized and not ready to start using. I asked to have them show me the slides worked, They did. I asked lots of questions during this time. At no point was I told that the unit did not have an up to date Co2 system and that the propane system was just visually inspected not certified, On the bill of sale it sys the unit would come with a Safety inspection certificate, This was not with the unit and to my knowledge was not done. after almost 2 weeks of asking for the certification of the unit I was sent a safety inspection.
      The reason I believe this unit was not inspected or certified was when I brought it into ****** Trailer sales and service to get dewinterized, as I have never done anything like that and wanted it done right, ****** found the propane system failed, the LP and LD systems failed and the co2 system failed. This is a massive safety issue for my family as we did intent to spend an extended stay in the trailer over the summer and into the fall. I would have never known these systems were unsafe. This could have ended very badly!!! I am not an experienced trailer owner as I have never owned a trailer.

      This travel trailer was purchased by this client on June 29, 2022 - both the salesperson and the manager spent a few hours going over all the components of the trailer and training the client on how to use it. All history information was provided to the consumer, including an invoice for repairs that were done to the unit before coming into our possession. A fairly extensive inspection was done on the unit, including reviewing the exterior condition, checking the chassis, ensuring all operating systems worked, visually inspecting & testing propane line function, testing the battery & electrical components and inspecting all the interior components of the RV. The unit was properly winterized, and still had antifreeze in the lines.  After taking the trailer, we did not hear back from the client until over a month later on August 6, now expressing that there were issues. She brought it into an RV Service center and was offered a courtesy inspection - at that time they raised a couple concerns including a propane test fail & a battery replacement. We followed up with the client to advise that the battery was fine when it left and since this was over 30 days after purchase, we cannot be liable. We understood that the smoke detector & CO2 detector were missing, and we agreed to replace it. Out of goodwill, we offered to do the diagnostics & necessary repairs through our own facility (excluding the battery replacement) but we would need her to bring it to us. Alternatively, we offered to cover the R&R regulator part & pay for the LP leak test through ******. We went over & above to assist this client, and simply will not offer a refund that is requested almost 2 months post-purchase, after the camping season is done.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to ********* ** ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Actually it’s not satisfactory to me but I was told by the company (RCJ motors)  I had to accept this or the company will not assist me in repairs. This is a horrible mess and I feel that I have been wronged on so many levels including the safety of my family. I was not informed about the trailer not having proper paperwork or safety inspections. RCJ motors will repair what they feel they should cover and nothing more and they will not get the unit certified as they feel it’s not nessicary as they think it’s had enough looked over at this time.
