On February 5th 2025 I chose Speedy Apollo based on reviews and its convenient location. My car's check engine light was on, and it was shaking, so I requested a diagnostic, which cost $160. After two hours of waiting, the technician informed me that a spark plug was misfiring and needed to be replaced. The total cost for the repair would be $800.Before agreeing, I asked the technician directly: "If you replace the spark plug, will the check engine light turn off and the shaking stop?" He assured me it would. I then asked again, "Are you certain nothing else will need to be fixed?" He confidently replied that their diagnostics were thorough and accurate.Later that day, they called to tell me my car had a major issue, yet I was still required to pay the $818. I was shocked and felt misledwhy was I charged for a repair that wasnt even the root of the problem? After a long and stressful conversation, during which they made me cry, I reluctantly paid without even checking the receipt. I then took my car to another mechanic, where it was properly diagnosed and repaired. When I later reviewed the receipt, I was shocked to see discrepanciesit didnt match what I was quoted. Additionally, they never actually replaced the spark plug and even returned my car without antifreeze!I want a full refund and reimbursement for the antifreeze they failed to replace. This experience was deeply frustrating, and I feel taken advantage of.Even the owner was acting in unacceptable manners and he wrote my personal information in ****** maps

Vehicle towed to mechanic on January 6th, 2023, *** the owner stated needed a new starter, $496 from ****, I approved work. Picked up vehicle evening of January 6th, 2023 paid $1,492.05 for new starter and labour associated with install. While in *************** the following week, needed to tow truck to another mechanic due to starter smoking and almost catching on fire, ****************** **************** and mechanic stated needed a new starter again. Paid another $1,503.06 for a new starter and install. Called *** at Speedy Apollo just to give him the heads up I was having issues. When arrived back in *******, went and saw ***, Jan 23/23, and simply requested my money back and was told he would only refund the part itself, the part that I was charged for and was never installed. I have the old starter that the mechanic pulled from truck in *****, went to a **** store and asked if starter was new, was told no way. You can see from the starter body and condition that this starter was never replaced to begin with. unfortunately, I was charged full price for a new starter motor and install at $1,492.05 only to have Speedy Brake Apollo apply a quick solder on the starter solenoid which lead to another tow bill and mechanic bill to do they job right!

    Business Response

This vehicle was TOWED into my shop as a no start. We Recommended a new starter and ********************** agreed to the costs involved. We replaced the starter and ********************** DROVE off with his brand new starter and a wonderful warranty that covered ********************** all over north america. If ********************** had called our shop after his new starter had failed (why we have a warranty) he would have had his vehicle towed to the nearest ************** shop, which is a network we are a part of, and had his starter replaced no charge. Instead ********************** chose to pay for the replacement of a part that was already under warranty. Unfortunately he has elected to pay for this service twice rather than using the warranty he had already purchased. We are not responsible for ************************** error in paying for this job twice. We will not be returning ************************** money as the transaction was fair value for fair dollar and backed up by a warranty. It is however nice to see that we were in the ballpark for the cost of that repair. A wise choice ********************** did make was to visit Speedy Apollo first.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Speedy Apollo is full of ****, nothing but lie's and karma will get you back!

We can clearly see the starter was never replaced in the first place! *** ******* and ********* at best, you will get what you deserve one day.

    Sincerely,
