    Montgomery auto select installed a new starter in my car on April 30, 2024. I started having issues with my car again (difficulty starting) and took it back to them to check. They said it started fine and they could not diagnose it and I was told to take it to a ***** dealership. I have taken it to a ***** dealership and they indicated that was installed by Montgomery auto select is faulty. As I was previously told (incorrectly) by Montgomery Auto that there were no issues with the starter and I feel they did not investigate the issue, I decided to have ***** install a working starter. Montgomery Auto select refuses to reimburse me the cost of the faulty starter ($455.56). I feel this is not fair as the starter was under warranty and they failed to run tests to determine the issue.

    We initially installed a starter, that was found to be faulty.  Customer returned as she complained that there was an intermittent issue starting the vehicle.  On the day she brought it back, we were unable to duplicate the issue described.  In order to provide warranty, we need proof that the starter is failing in some regard.  We performed all required tests and were still unable to duplicate the problem.  She was never advised to go to a dealership, however we would accept documented proof that the starter was faulty in order to replace the starter HERE or at any of our affiliated stores.  She approved the starter to be replaced again at the dealership without seeking advice on how to handle the situation or warranty.  Our warranty covers parts and labor for one year at our facility or any of our partners/affiliates.  A dealership is not one of them.  Because she had it replaced elsewhere, I no longer have the ability to warranty the part, even if she has the part. I have attached a copy of the warranty information that is provided to every customer
