Initially, I was assured by the manager that I had the required training to qualify for their course. It wasn't until after a Zoom meeting with the instructor and two other participants, and arrival in Sidney, BC that I was informed my previous training may not qualify me for their course. After completion of the three day course, the solution offered was to demonstrate my skill with another instructor I had also enrolled training with, and after that person signed off I would be acknowledged as having completed the Glenmore Keelboat * course. After successful completion of my training with the other instructor I have not received acknowledgement of their training; they have only forwarded me copied of the documentation from the other company I received training from. Other issues were also as follows: 1) On the last day of training at the marina a serious safety incident took place without any formal reporting process. 2) The shore lunches during the course were not provided. I was not informed about this until after my registration was completed and costs paid. *) On arrival in Sidney, BC we were informed that the examination would take place in Calgary, Alberta instead of in Sidney, BC. When I discussed the last two issues with the Glenmore Club manager I was informed that they had not updated their website. These three points seem to show an indifference on part of the organization. Until recently, this organization proported that they provided club-specific training and that there was no equivalent certification through their organizing body Sail Canada. Sail Canada did not explain how they could provide training without formal certification; however, a change between last year and this year indicates that their Keelboat * course is equivalent to the training I received from the other Sailing company. When I request documentation of my training from Glenmore Sailing Club I am provided with the certification I received from the other organization.

I also sent a complete explanation by email that was received by ******* at your office. My complaint is incomplete without that information.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

I've been asking for confirmation of successful completion of this course and am only being offered copies of existing certification at another organization, and now screenshots of their website. This, or a logbook entry that only records hours on a vessel do not provide confirmation of my participation in the training. I would like to received detailed documentation acknowledging completion of the course.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******
