ZERO STARS. CA Closets failed to install our closet as contractually promised. We had a signed contract on 5/31/23 with a completed install date of 8/22/23. Half of the project measurements were incorrect. They also damaged several areas of the walls, floors and ceiling during the partial install. We were then made to wait two additional months for the completed correction. We spent those two months arguing with our designer and two managers to try to get an accelerated date of completion with no success. Most of our communications were ignored. We have asked them at least ten times in writing to remove the partially installed closet with also no success. Now we are in the process of terminating the contract through our credit card. One of the managers has started to respond to our emails with untruthful statements, information and dates. It is unclear if we will lose some money on this cancellation or if we will need to go to small claims. JA *************, **

California Closets did not incorporate standard "supply and install" business practices into their sales process. They were not they willing to be flexible regarding up front deposit (say 15+/- % rather than 50%) nor a payment process tied to their progress / incurred costs. Their sales process did not provide a quote that broke down the cost into materials and labour. All the foregoing are standard business practices which they would not accommodate so they advised me to go elsewhere which I did and got a suitable contract.

I cannot recommend this company. I encourage anyone to secure work with a different company.I had $25k worth of design and installation services for two closet and a laundry room. The closet design and installation framed over 2 electrical outlets without any notification. The laundry room cabinets spilt the hot and cold water outlets between to units and the height was installed 1 inch too high. The floating shelves look horrible and are uneven and cannot be fixed, so can only be taken down. The installation was contracted to be 3 days and they were aggressive on the dates with charges for any change on my part. It took 6 days to complete and I had to chase them via text, email, and calls to have the work completed. Now that the work is completed (with design flaws) they call me twice a day to complete payment. How hypocritical!

I used the contact form to get a consultation. *********************** came out on Tuesday Oct 25. She promised the quote by ******. The following week I left 2 message at the company. Still nothing. I posted on Yelp and got a reply from ************ and by her name it says "owner." **** is not the owner, it turns out, but she says she will have Karter call me. No call. I reply to **** and she says a Sales Manager will call me. Anyway, Wednesday the 2nd, I get a docusign contract. I have now spoken to ****** and also *****************************, the Sales Lead for **************** ***** and ****** apologize and tell me this is not how they do business. Karter forgot to leave a card and sent the contract to the wrong email. I tell them I am losing faith in California Closets, but say I will sign a contact if they can make any concession for my bad experience. I actually said "eat some margin to retain a customer." To this, they say they will review my deal. ****** promises to call me at 10am the following day. I wait until 4pm and message her. I get an email from ***** saying that we already got a 5% savings for being a repeat customer but she could add some hooks. That was insulting. I texted and tried to call both ***** and ******. Then I waited 2 hours for a reply. Nothing, so I post my full experience here so that others do not have to deal with this. Then I get on the **** site to check their license #******. Turns out Karter is not listed under that license as personnel or as a salesperson. Go figure. Call Classy Closets and save yourself the hassle.
