I described my project (change one ceiling light fixture - nothing elaborate) on the phone and the estimator figured it would be about $200. He said the workman would confirm the price once he came to my house and looked at the project. The workman gave me a price of $380. I told him about the phone estimate. He phone the office and the lady said "We record all our calls" like she had just won the argument. I said great go listen to the recording. She came back and we agreed on a price of $225 and I signed the "contract" on the workman's tablet. The workman only had a 30 foot extension ladder which was too big to fit in my stairwell. The office said they would have to send another truck and workman with a smaller ladder but it would be and additional $130. Since when is it the customer's responsibility to ensure that service vehicles have appropriate equipment. The refused to honor the "contract." I guess integrity takes a back seat to profit.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. At Mr. *********************** we value transparency and always strive to provide accurate estimates and excellent service. Id like to address a few points to ensure theres clarity about the situation. When you contacted us, our office provided an initial estimate range of $250$400, based on the details you shared about the light fixture replacement. This range factors in labour, potential complexities, and materials, as specific site conditions can vary. When our technician assessed the project on-site, the quote fell within this range, which is standard for how we operate to ensure fairness and accuracy. We also discussed and agreed on the adjusted price of $225, reflecting the simplicity of the project as initially understood. However, upon inspection, it became evident that access to the fixture required a different ladder to safely and properly complete the job, which added complexity. For safety and efficiency, we proposed the additional cost to deploy a different crew with the necessary equipment. We understand your frustration, but safety and quality are priorities we will never compromise. Our goal is to provide solutions that meet our customers' needs, and we regret that we could not align on a resolution this time.If youd like to discuss this further, feel free to contact us directly. Were always open to feedback and willing to find ways to improve. We wish you all the best with your project.
