Hatchup Magazine promised to provide a photoshoot, featured content, and give us an article in an upcoming magazine. Unfortunately, we paid their fee upfront and an edition was never published. They did come out to take the content and provided us a draft column but nothing ever came of it. I have talked with the owner on numerous occasions about recourse and making this situation right, however, I do not expect anything to come in the future. I would stay away from this company at all costs as it is just a scam at the end of the day.

My business was to participate in a photo shoot and interview, and to be featured in upcoming issue of HatchUp magazine. I was told HatchUp is entrepreneurial magazine with readership of ******. I paid for the package including photos, video content and advertising through the magazine issue and social media posting. I was told Id be given all content for my own use and there would be social media posts/reels made/posted by the company. The interview was conducted, an article was to be written and a 4 page spread issued in the Fall 2023 issue of the magazine - which at the time was promised to be 4-6 weeks away.Photo shoot and interview was conducted. I was repeatedly told the issue would be ready for print within a month, but the date was pushed 4-5 times. After 6 months I gave up hope and requested a refund. I have received no reply. Not only did the magazine issue not go forward, but I received none of the content for my own use. The shoot/interview took 4 hours - which is also lost income. I do not want other small businesses to give any money to this company, as they will not see any results. I have contacted other clients and at least 6-8 have the same story as me.

Matchup Magazine was paid and hired Jan 16th 2023 for services of an interview, photoshoot, and publication digitally and in their magazine. Shoot took place Feb 20th 2023. At that time we promised the Magazine would be published late Spring/Early Summer. And we would get all content (photos, video, etc) ahead of the release of the magazine. We have not been promised many dates and no magazine has been published, we also have not seen any content besides a screen shot of photos. December 2023, ***********************, owner of Matchup promised via email that we would receive a full refund for services not provided. He agreed to full refund in January 2024. As of February 4th 2024 we have not received. It has come to our attention of other individuals who have experienced the same scam and lack of service delivered with full payment and continued promised of delivery.

I was contacted by *** from Hatchup Magazine early October to be a part of their upcoming fall issue which would be published at the end of october. I paid $2100 to be on the cover of the magazine in the spring with the promo of a 4 page spread meant to be in this I Immediate october. The company did come to **************** (the owner and one videographer) and interviewed me and took photos to be used in the magazine and for social media. I was told that I would be getting a proof of the article within the next couple of weeks before publication.Fast forward to the end of October and early November when I had still not received any proof or deliverables and had reached out to inquire. The owner promised that it was a simple publication delay and that it would be coming out shortly. Shortly turned into weeks and weeks of communication and many missed deadlines. At this time (end of november) I asked about a refund. The owner asked me repeatedly to have patience but did agree to send me a refund. Almost every week I was promised that it was coming, sometimes within 24 hour time frames, none of which came to ************ is now the end of December and there is still no magazine and no refund.I also recieced an email blackmailing me into not sharing my experience if I ever wanted my money back.I never really expect to see my money. But I want to prevent other small businesses, who work as hard as I do to allocate money to marketing, from being taken advantage of. My hope is that myself and everyone else in the 'october issue' gets a full refund.

This will be 100% refunded within a month. Unfortunately, with production issues I encountered financial challenges that caused the delay in refund. But rest assured this will be refunded. Thank you!

I am rejecting this response because: I have heard I'd be getting a refund for many many weeks and the timeline keeps changing. I have no reason to believe this one will be any better than the others and the money will actually be sent.

I have way too many chances trusting 'maybe this week'.... October was a long time ago.

      Sincerely,

Was approached by this company to do some advertising for my business last fall, that included a photo spread. Organized my team for the agreed upon time for the photographer etc. and no one showed up. They gave us some excuse after the fact. Gathering my team was a challenge and I catered the afernoon so they could gave snacks etc. so it was a pretty big inconvenience. Dealings with *********************** have been sketchy. He promised a refund 11 months ago and has continued to ask me to be patienct, promising a refund, it has now been a year. I highly recommend you stay away from this company.

I was approached by Hatchup Magazine Owner *********************** through social media (instagram) back in June of 2022. To be advertised as a local business in his local magazine, the promo offer was for $950.00, 2 articles would be completed about our business', one for the summer and one for the fall. Neither article happened in 2022 or now. After numerous attempts to reach Hatchup Magazine/*** via email, phone and social media for a refund of our money they/he has refused to respond or take action. This is *****, offering services to the public and just taking their money with no product provided.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Hatchup Magazine forgot to mention that they didn't attempt to fix the article from the issues I pointed out and most recently have agreed to refund me my money paid, which was not mentioned. I will update my response on BBB once funds have been officially refunded/ received.

      Sincerely,
