  After taking my Ford F53 chassis motorhome in to Al at Calgary Muffler for a catalytic converter ? I was given a very small extremely small replacement ment for a ***. After 3 phone calls back to Al he finally admitted that it was not the correct one and claimed it was just a mistake. I went back and was expecting to get a proper catalytic converter for my unit. I was still given a very undersized single port unit when I required a much larger dual port converter unit for my motorhome. I feel this is a standard practice for them to undersize catalytic converter and charge for a much more proper sized unit. Insurance allowed for a proper unit. Many people never look or know until it has caused problems. Never mind the fact the welds looked like they would leak and break from porosity throughout much of the weld. I would rate my first 2 trips there as total waste of my time and once I get things fixed proper I must return to give back the second very undersized unit. They would not even get a 1 star rating from me if I could post without.

  ****,We were happy to work with your insurance company to get your **** F550 Super Duty RV repaired. Your insurance company requested an aftermarket catalytic converter be installed. This was due to the factory parts having been disconnected for your RV.There was only ever one Catalytic converter installed on your vehicle. On your first visit we installed, at your request a test pipe as you were not sure if you wanted the catalytic converter installed. This was an additional cost not covered by you or your insurance company.We dont typically send parts home with customers while we wait for the customer to decide how they want to proceed with their repair. ** had no idea when you left the shop you had picked up the wrong part. ** was able to finally get to the bottom of what had happened and yes a mistake was made. The product had not been installed on your vehicle but was carried out by you and was easily corrected. ** understood your frustration and offered you a refund with the return the part and the test pipe we installed. We also were in communication with your insurance company while we awaited how you wanted to proceed.Days later you appeared at to the shop to have the catalytic converter installed at which time we corrected the incorrect part and installed the required converter according to manufactures specifications for your engine size. You also requested an addition removable pipe and extensive modifications to the convertor installation in order for you to be able to remove your convertor during storage and replace with the pipe assembly we manufactured for you. These modifications were done at no cost to you or your insurance company. Al installed a catalytic converter as per manufacturer specifications for a **** F550 Super Duty up to 7.8 Liter engine. You seem to still be frustrated with the manufacturers recommended catalytic convertor size up to the 7.8 liter and the job that was done. Al again offered a full refund to you with your return for removal of the installed parts and the additional fabricated storage pipes. We still have not heard how you are proceeding. We have also been in contact with your insurance company as they were the ones we started with in this repair.We appreciate your review. Im unclear what more Al could have done to accommodate ************.1.First visit test pipe installed allowing for you to use your RV (No charge repair)2.Full refund offered after first visit (Not taken)3.Second visit Installation of new Catalytic Converter for your F550 along with extensive modifications.
