My daugther was in an accident merging onto ************** on Friday Aug 11th.Being this was her first accident she was unsure what to do. We live 5 hours away so she called for advice. We asked if she could limp her car off the freeway to somewhere safe. She was able to get it to a parking lot and my wife called ASAP Towing ************ and they dispatched a flatdeck. The driver arrived and loaded the car....drove it 2.4km to the closest bodyshop and had my daughter pay the bill. She let us know that the bill came to $326.34 and I **** near died. She then sent a screenshot of the paper bill she was presented with after the transaction......$271.95. I called the tow company back and pretended to need a tow....quoting the pick up and drop off address and the vehicle type......and was quoted $160 plus gst. I then questioned about why my daughter was overcharged for the exact same service and he immediately mentioned that she must have left the driver a big tip. She would not have done this but regardless if she had the same service was almost $100 higher for my daughter than myself. I then asked my daughter how the payment process went and she mentioned that she told the driver she was paying with credit card.....he then entered a total and handed her the machine.....she inserted her card, entered her pin and pressed enter......no prompting of a tip line on her end.......but the difference of her paper bill to the credit card amount is exactly 20%......interesting?I would like to think that this is just a mistake/oversight rather than a company taking financial advantage of a young girl in a majorly traumatic accident.I have reached out by phone to the company but have not hear back and have reached out by email with no response. Please do yourself a favor and double check estimates, totals on bills and actual transaction cost to protect yourself from situations like this......especially if you are in a stressful situation.

Thanks so much for the response. I highly doubt we will get a response based on some other reviews on other sites regarding how they operate.  If this had not been an emergency situation we definitely would have done more homework into the companies around. Not looking for financial reimbursement as much as making the company aware that people should not be taken advantage of any time and that some people will take action.  Want others to be aware of the situation so they don't get taken advantage of. I would like the company's answer back of how the same job can be quoted at $160 for me, but cost my daughter $271.95 and be billed at $326.34.It's not only financially draining but emotionally draining to be made to feel like that.  I have ran a business for 44 years and this is not how we treat customers.

Thanks for your time and your effort to keep business fair for everyone......glad there are people like yourselves working to stand up for consumers

    Have a fantastic day!
