    I contacted Chinook Upholstery, *********************************************** with respect to re-upholstering a beautiful antique chesterfield. This had been previously re-upholstered approximately 15 years ago by Simmerings Upholstery who did an amazing job. I decided to give the job to Chinook Upholstery not because they were less expensive, because they weren't but because of the time factor. After I had the chesterfield delivered they did not do the work on scheduled time. Okay, delays happen.When I got the chesterfield back, they had altered the design on the arms then telling me that I had approved this. I had not. The upholstery job was terrible, they added ribbing to where there was none before and it looked like a first time job for someone.That was bad enough, they said they would fix other problems such as my "putting my hand in between two seams of the upper arms of the chesterfield, where there should not be and wasn't prior. They also made a cushion for me that was to compensate for the poor quality of work done on the chesterfield. I didn't trust them to come and pick up the chesterfield and then wait another month or more for poor quality workmanship. The cushion was to be 6" long and 16" deep (front to back). When it came, it was too narrow and 8" too short.Finally, they were to compensate for this terrible work by making arm sleeves for the chesterfield. I even paid to have them picked up. They arrived half done, no seams on the sides to hold them in place.I called to express my disappointment only to be hung up on. PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY EXPECTING TO GET GOOD SERVICE OR QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP FROM THIS COMPANY.I spoke to a Designer friend of mine and told her what happened. Told her the name of the company and she said "they have new owners, don't go there". She told me that she had dealt with the previous owners for years and that they did superior quality work. These people who now own the company should not be there.
