    I engaged in a contract with Sunglow Windows to install 3 basement windows for a client (I am a renovation contractor). Two of the windows were required to meet code for egress as this was a basement development. At the time of sign off, April 24th, I was told the windows would arrive in 6-8 weeks. The windows arrived on site on July 11, which was 15 weeks. Sunglow hired a subcontractor to cut the concrete and the windows were installed. Upon our inspection, it was discovered that the window did not meet code for egress. Correct Windows were reordered and arrived on Sept 11, installed the same day. Bringing the total time from original order to 25 weeks. There were also some issues with the installation and it took a further 2 weeks to resolve, not totally to the clients' satisfaction. The concrete cutter damaged the stucco and parging on the building during his cuts and made a poor attempt at repairing the damage. He also left a mess inside the building. The window installers used a solvent to clean off the window openings for the second install and the solvent caused the CO sensor on the furnace to go off, shutting off the furnace. My firm had to go there after hours to reset the sensor and ventilate the building. Once the windows were in, I was sent an invoice for double the amount that we originally signed off. When asked about this, I was left with no further contact. It has been 3 weeks without any response. Overall, I would not recommend working with this firm. They are unlicensed in the city of Edmonton, and, they are unlicensed as a prepaid contractor with the government of Alberta. They have ruined any good will that I've built with this client and it has cost me unnecessary expenses to try to move forward with this project. Buyer Beware. Sunglow Ltd. knew full well that they made this initial order of the wrong windows and tried to pass it off on me.
