This yoga studio has terrible customer service, I was turned away from my class today because I had to leave 5 minutes early. The instructor put the problem on me instead of sorting it out himself. It was a reasonable request to leave early for a service I am planning my for since I had to get back to work.

    Business Response

    Hello,

It is in fact true we do not allow for early departure from class. Due to the nature of our business (a drop in fitness boutique) we host classes sporadically throughout the day and cannot afford to pay front desk staff during the many hours between classes. In addition, our front desk staff are not always at the front desk, sometimes they are in the basement doing laundry so even when we do have staff (in the weekday evenings or the weekend mornings) we do not allow for early departure because there is no one to monitor that the door will be locked behind the person leaving early. We are very concerned about leaving the door to the studio open without attendant staff for safety reasons and because of theft.

Throughout the studio we have "Studio Etiquette" posters which inform people of this requirement to attend classes at the studio and which state that we cannot accept early departures from class.

All of that having been said, had the customer contacted us directly I would have gladly refunded them their money.

Please let me know what additional information you require to address this issue,

I am rejecting this response because:

They didn't offer to refund my class. I addition, while I understand their perspective, it still isn't reasonable not to allow clients to leave five mins early. The policy they claim to have in the studio doesn't exist otherwise the yoga teacher would have logically pointed to it the day of the complaint.

    Sincerely,

I am happy to refund the customer, had the customer contacted me after this scenario I would have offered a refund. I have attached an image of our studio etiquette which is in hanging in three places in the studio for students to be aware of.

    Better Business Bureau:

If you provided a copy of a poster on studio etiquette, it means nothing if a) I cant see it, and b) if you put it up in response to my complaint. If it was up prior, why didnt the teacher post it out that day?

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Im looking for a full refund of the class, after please destroy my credit card information.

    Sincerely,
