I provided the first draw funds $22,750 March 28, 2023 to get the start on the new windows, doors and renovations to my ********************** home near Hill ******* Alberta. However, since the funds have been transferred I have spoken, text and emailed many times for a start date. He agreed multiple times to start within a month. He injured himself and offered to give the funds back, but mentioned it would be hard to get another contractor due to the time of year peak season for renovation. He suggested within a month he would start. However, after many efforts he could not assure me of a start date and the project to renovate and change doors and window did NOT start. On August 2, 2023 I asked for a full refund to which he replied though not in the contract that he was to deduct all the estimating. However, he did not do this and did not return the funds.

So we spoke in Jan about what she wanted and I started research for her. I did several drafting designs and many trips to her home. She then changed the things she wanted 4 or 5 times. I finally got her to decide on a plan and priced it accordingly. I waited from Jan to end of April to receive a deposit to start. I explained that in the 3 months it took for a deposit I would be booking my other clients and would fit her in when possible  On May 28 I informed her I was in a bad accident at work which would require surgery. I offered her money back and find someone else she refused and said she only wanted me.
July she started to ask me about the green energy ***** and how it worked I again met with her redid plans again and want changes. I happily complied. Then end of July she texted me to redo the quote to help with green energy. I redid the quote and researched 3 days in a row July 26 27 28. Each day till it was accepted using my company quote my logo my research etc. on Aug 2 she texted me wanting an immediate refund I was at the hospital getting surgery and stated I would deduct all my time, trips research etc from any possible refund and that using my name and company to apply for a ***** under my work was not right and could be considered fraud. July 28 to Aug 2 talked and I was assured she wanted me to do the job until the morning of Aug 2 when she fired me wanting a full refund I explained my time, drawings, quotes, trips to her home would be deducted. She told me the deposits were for materials and she wanted the full amount. Gave me 24 hours and I explained I was in *** getting surgery and would figure all of my time and efforts. She threatened me again so I determined this would result in civil action and I would let the judge determine what if anything is required.
