I brought my bunny to Dr. *** for a check up on Dec. 10, 2023 because my bunny had soft poo that was not cecotropes. She suggested blood work and x-ray, and her vet tech told me that the sedative drug that they would use to calm my bunny wouldn't hurt the bunny, and I blindly trusted them. Dr. *** and her staff couldn't restrain my bunny during the tests, and they gave my bunny the sedative drug and killed him. I should have never brought my bunny to this vet. Dr. *** and her vet techs and this clinic claims to be an exotic clinic and they claims to know how to treat bunnies; but they killed my beloved bunny and they actually had no clue about what they were doing. It has been a bit over half a year since my bunny got killed, and I could still barely collect myself to mention this to the public and write about this. Please DO NOT BRING YOUR RABBITS TO THIS VET!

Hi again, Sau Fan Thank you for taking the time to write another critical review (similar to previous reviews on several other websites, although very slightly different wording) of your visit to Dewinton Pet Hospital. Let me begin by once again expressing our deepest condolences over the tragic and sudden unexpected loss over your beloved family member. This was a traumatic experience for Dr. *** and her team involved in your rabbit's care -- we cannot imagine how your family has felt these past few months regarding this tragic situation. As you are well aware by now, given our several interactions regarding your multiple posted reviews, the "sedation" medication mentioned above is recommended in certain cases to help reduce anxiety and relieve any discomfort a rabbit may be experiencing, resulting in a more relaxed patient who will typically begin eating on their own and tolerate specific handling needed for any recommended testing/sample collection. Remember, rabbits are prey species and easily stressed. When used at higher doses, yes, this medication can cause a sedative effect. However, I want to re-iterate, yet again, that the dose used for your rabbit was 5 times LOWER than the amount listed in exotic medicine literature given the sensitive condition he had presented to us in. Furthermore, this medication has a reversal agent (which was given before critical care stabilization efforts began) in the unlikely event ANY adverse reaction is seen. I hope this reply gives you more comfort and peace-of-mind over the sudden and unexpected tragic loss of your loved one. Kind regards,DPH Team
