I had a flood in my house due to my waterline to my dishwasher blowing apart and flooding the upstairs and pretty much all of the downstairs.
We took a payout from insurance and hired ********* ******** with KC Timber Homes to originally install our new kitchen cabinets that were affected due to the flood.
We offered for him to do the rest of the repairs and he requoted the job for $33,075, all in.
He would, complete the cabinet install, lay new subfloor and flooring & underlay in the upstairs, as well as the downstairs, minus new subfloor in the basement, as it was not affected as bad as the stuff on the upper floor. Install new drywall and tape, mud and sand. He did not finish the drywall in the basement, he did not sand the drywall mud properly resulting in me having to go over it. He was first paid $2000 via E-Transfer on Nov.19/22 to begin repairs, then E-transfers on Dec.5 x 2, Dec.6 of $3000 each, then a cash pay on Dec.7/22 of $5537.50, with final payment being issued on Dec.30/22 for $16,537.50 for a Grand total owing $33,075.00.
After the payment on Dec.30/22 he took a couple days off for New Years, came back on the 2nd and worked until the 7th, doing a rush job, then jumped on a plane to Costa Rica for vacation, with no intention of even doing my work properly.
The flooring on the entire upstairs portion of the house is all broken and lifting due to the floor being out of level. This all started to cause issues about a month after install, I called him and let him know, and he said that he would come and look at it when he was home from his trip, which he did, and I then filed a claim with **** ****** on defected product, which was not the case here, as per the report. I am seeking for him to pay back the cost of the upstairs flooring, plus labor for another contractor to install. He was negligent by not checking for level and using the proper methods to fix the problem. More pictures available at your request. Please contact me anytime.
