The Foundry Room OEX is an event venue We put a $3,700~ deposit down for our April 26, 2025 wedding with them August 30, 2025. No mention of financial troubles, being overseen by new management or anything of the sort was mentioned.Yesterday, November 13, 2024 I received a concerning email from them stating that they had difficulty paying their bills and no longer operate out of that location and that a new management team will be overseeing the event. They stated that they sent over a new invoice to us - which I have not received. The event we booked through the foundry was "all inclusive" and had event planners, bartenders, decor, DJ, catering...etc all built into our price. After digging further I found out they actually have not had an active lease since JULY 16 2024. Again, we paid our deposit, had a site visit and tour in August 2024. The most recent communication from them was October 30, 2024 when we booked our decor consultation that was scheduled to take place this upcoming Tuesday, November 18, 2024. I have been informed that the new "owner" will oversee this. Further digging I have uncovered that others have been scammed as well and similar to me, have also had decor consultations, been requested to pay IN FULL their remaining deposits. The list goes on and on.The explicitly asked for cash or e-transfer and did not offer credit card as a payment method.

My wedding has been booked for ***** 26, 2025. In the summer there were some rumors that they were getting shut down. But the owner made sure to let everyone know that wasn't happening. It's now November and I recieved an email from the property manager saying they will no longer have OEX and OEX2. Where does that leave a bride like me ? I can't just go and find another venue for my ***** wedding and be short over $5000. This place scammed us hard. I was just there 2 weekends ago planning my decor and day of timeline, she didn't even make it seem like they would be shut down. Shame on them.
