    We were assigned to First General by ********************** after a water pipe burst in our basement. The First General team arrived within hours of our call and mitigated the damage caused by the water. Once the area was dried out and the claim approved, they had someone on-site every day until the job was complete - two weeks from start to finish. Their team re-drywalled floors and ceiling, replaced underlay, reinstalled carpet, replaced vinyl flooring, replaced and painted baseboards and put everything back to the way it was before the incident. The team was led by ****, who took great care and pride in his work, was a great communicator and was friendly and easy to have around. All the team members were friendly, tidy and did their jobs well. I was not sure what to expect with a contractor assigned by an insurance company, but I am fully satisfied with the work performed by First General. Their work was excellent and they beat the deadline they originally provided. Highly recommend.

    This company is BRUTAL. They were assigned to me by TD insurance for a minor basement water damage claim which I was out of town for. They came out in a timely fashion but then did a substandard job drying out the basement and at one point made the water damage worse by allowing previously dry areas to become wet. After speaking to the project manager (*** - who was abrupt and arrogant) ) about this a revisit was required to further remediate the damage. He then wouldn't return my calls and I had to meet with a second abrupt and rude manager as all the damages had not been included on the original estimate. I then attempted to get more info from them, to complete the estimate and they became incommunicado to me and my TD adjuster. I even made attempts to communicate with the general manager of the Edmonton office, without response.I've been left with an incomplete estimate and no remediation service for repairs, although they did take the money from TD for the initial clean up. I've had to arrange for a second company to do the repair work on a cash basis. I think they have got too big too fast and It is actually shocking to see how badly this company is run. Don't use them.
