The tiling job was very poorly done, when brought up to ******, excuses were made. Tiles cut improperly, chipped tile, inconsistent spacing, missing grout, etc. He offered to regrout the shower to see if we could salvage the job. The subfloor was allegedly so uneven/slanted that they were unable to level it with self leveler but instead of informing me and looking into a different path forward, they laid the tile on top of it. floor tiles are popping, grouts cracked and theres grout missing. He did not see a problem with that.At the beginning of the work, I was sent photos of custom vanities to choose from. We chose one that would fit the space. I assumed he ordered the vanity at this time, as it was custom and would take time to be built. Instead, near the end of the job I was told that it would take more than three weeks to now order the custom vanity. I ended up having to choose a cheap, temporary ********** vanity. It was installed in the bathroom and they realized the walls it sat on were not straight. In the gaps around it you can see chunks of drywall mud and unpainted wall. There is paint all over everything but somehow the paint on the walls is still patchy. Nothing was sanded or prepped for painting. Caulking looks like somebody smoothed it out with their tongue. When confronted about all of this ****** did agree that all the work done was horrible. When asked to fix it, he claimed that he was unable to afford to have everything redone properly or to refund any money. As if I should just accept that I am throwing away $6000 (half the quoted price) on something that needs to be redone. After pushing, ****** agreed to refund the cost of tile. While there are things that are fine (window closure/stucco patch, bathroom fan install, fixtures) I do feel like this individual has screwed me over. PLEASE do not have any work done by Blue Ladder Contractors, unless you are looking to have a half assed end result on your hands.

Thank you for the opportunity. we did everything we could to address clients concerns. there were a couple tiles which was 1/8 of an inches cut smaller we offered to redo those tile and regrout the whole shower. The washroom had Asbestos so we recommend to the client that they remove the whole washroom drywall and redo it but it was out of their budget so we were told only to remove drywall where we were tiling and being old washroom it was impossible to make it flush with the existing wall. After doing 4 coats of patching it was as close to existing wall as possible. The client told us not to spend more money and so we didnt have choices to recommend leveling the floor. There were 2 tiles on floor which were not even. After the clients raised concerns we offered to remove all the tiles they had issues with and redo it, but they didnt wanted us to finish the job and asked to refund the full amount after 80% of the job is done. We had paid all our labor costs and Asbestos testing and Asbestos drywall removal. For paint work we didnt finish the final touch *** as we were asked to stop the work and remove the whole washroom or refund their full amout. This was unfair to us, still we refunded the money for tile work. We ended up paying for our pocket for most of the work. The vanity was ordered when it was selected by client but there were more delays from suppliers. As such, we gave options to client and she picked the vanity which was installed in the bathroom. The client should have told us about the issues when the job was in progress and not after the job was 80% done. Still, we offered to redo the work they had issues with, but they asked us to give all the money back and didnt wanted to work with us anymore.
