Also noted crack in grade beam, separation at expansion joint and separation of bathroom window from brick wall. Filed claim with Coventry homes. November 2022 - Noted that the grade beam crack had widened, expansion joint was separated more, tile floor crack had increased, tile in bathroom shower/tub separated from tub to ceiling, multiple drywall cracks and separations in attached bedroom, entry hall, and garage, Multiple Brick veneer cracks and separations along the bedroom exterior, home entry and office exterior wall, separation between window and brick at office window, separation in wood flooring Entry hall, closet by garage and dining room, separation and various baseboards and crown moldings, crack in garage slab. 08 November Coventry inspector attended the home in performed visuals and elevation survey. 22 November engineers report (Coventry hired Engineering company) stated "There are no visible foundation induced distress conditions indicative of excessive foundation movement observed at the interior sheetrock walls or exterior stone and brick veneer walls. The areas of concern do not appear to be related to excessive foundation movement. Based on our observations, it is our opinion that the foundation will perform as designed provided the homeowner follows routine drainage and moisture maintenance practices". I would not that the gutter system and grading around the home were performed by Coventry homes. )6 December I contracted an independent Engineering firm to conduct a ASCE Level A investigation of the condition of the home. Concluded the foundation subsided, recommended 8 piers be installed

We purchased Coventry Homes house in September of 2020. There has just been some issues that have been continuously happening since day 1. Right out of the gate, Coventry was unwilling to negotiate. I had to work my tail off to get them to throw a washer and dryer in. The first day living there I had Shaw in to setup TV & Internet. We noticed that they didn't have a CABLE JACK on the main floor. I had to fight with them as they said it was an "upgrade". They finally put one in. Next, we had just had a new born baby, and noticed that his room was extremely cold in the winter (2-3 degrees cooler than rest of the house in winter) which ultimately resulted in him getting sick. We had their heating contractor out 4 times. We had been told: Nothing we can do, Turn up the fan motor, The room is on the far side of the house and we might have to put a heater in it. Finally I had enough and called a manager (**** I believe his name was). They had put oversized windows in the room and he believes that was the reason that it was getting so cold He ended up upgrading our thermostat and putting a sensor in his room with no success. We to this day, 2 years later have to run an extra heater to keep his room up to an average temp. They misplaced the CC valve and had to cut a hole in our driveway, which is still there as they couldn't find it. The hole is still there, they ended up finding it and cut a massive hole on our lawn, still unfixed. The caulking had to be re done twice. The sliding door in our mudroom had to be fixed twice, AND there was no latch put on the wall, but there is a lock on the slider. The parging was redone and fallen off twice, not fixed still. The Concrete in the garage and worn down to the rock and has affected the seal of our garage door. It looks like it is 15 years old, not 2. There is more issues, but overall I will NEVER recommend anyone to build or buy from them. After sale communication/warranty has been awful. Currently looking to sell our house.

    Dear ****,

Thank you for contacting us about your home. Talking with the team, I can confirm that work orders were already issued for the parging and the hole in the driveway. The work order for the lawn was issued previously, and the trade came for this repair a couple of days ago. Thank you for the pictures of your door, we will have our team contact you by Tuesday for an appointment.

For the last item the team had determined that the damage to the concrete in the garage is caused by a lack of homeowner maintenance as the snow was not cleared from the door area and allowing it to pool and freeze/thaw. There will be no repairs for this area.

    Thank you,

    Coventry Homes

I am rejecting this response because:Good Afternoon, I appreciate your concern about me and my wife clearing our driveway in the winter. Unfortunately that was never the case, as we made it a priority to clear our driveway and sidewalk . We have witnesses. If you would like to challenge this, we have no problem arguing your rebuttal. I will get both of our neighbors to reach out to you to confirm that we shovelled our driveway, sidewalk and our neighbours driveway when she wasn’t home. Every single time it snowed. I find it extremely offensive that you draw these extreme accusations, after we were told by your contractors that it’s was “salt” that created these issues. Before you come at us for not maintaining our property, I would recommend contacting your sub contractors. Especially for something that was done on the daily  Please provide proof of accusation before accusing us of such brutal accusations as we take great pride in our property maintenance.

    Sincerely,

    Dear ****,

To prevent further damage to the garage door area it is
advisable to remove any melted snow that pools against the garage door. In most
cases, this water is caused by snow melting off cars, snowblowers or shovels. This
needs to be cleared before any freeze/thaw cycles occur. A water test was
performed on your garage during the warranty period confirming that water flows
towards the garage door area. The concrete in question met or exceeded Alberta
New Home Warranty standards during your warranty period, and there will be no
    repairs for this area.

    Thank you,
    Coventry Homes

I am rejecting this response because: Good Afternoon, that was also completed regularly as my wife and I were concerned about the pooling and freezing of the water by the garage door. We had to use a variety of tools: squeegee, shovel and when required an ice chipper to accomplish this. The garage was maintained during the winter months to the best of our abilities. Due to the poor design and poor quality of the concrete there was nothing we could do. We were forced to squeegee and shovel/chip away every single day in the winter. Regardless of the decision on this poor craftsmanship, we have yet to discuss how the heating has been insufficient for almost 2 years without solution. I have spoken to multiple people and have gotten nowhere. You guys put in the bigger windows, but maybe it’s time to put in better windows that don’t allow as much heat to escape. There needs to be a resolution, as we both know winter is quickly approaching. We shouldn’t be forced to close every other vent in the house so we can get an underwhelming amount of heat into our spare bedrooms. It’s not acceptable for these rooms to be 2.5-3.5 degrees colder than everywhere else in the house. At worst when the thermostat was set at 22, our sons room was 17. Please keep in mind that he was born 4 months into having the house and has been battling chills constantly in the winter. We were forced to buy an oversized heater to get the room close to temp

    Sincerely,

    Dear ****,

Yes, shoveling and chipping is an every single day task in
the winter. It is essential to keep it up to avoid further freeze/thaw damage.

In February we replaced the thermostat in the home. The
temperature sensor for this thermostat was placed in the bedroom. In other
words, the bedroom determines when to call for heat. Your home is beyond warranty; if you are concerned about
the thermostat or sensor operation perhaps a heating contractor can assist. Each product comes with different warranties, the installer of the thermostat in your home was Economy Heating and can give you details on a warranty, or assist with testing.

    Thank you,
