These exact words were used on my quote " Engine rebuild/ replace : Complete tear down of engine, clean reseal and rebuild.I approved the quote to have my engine rebuilt. - That did not happen it was simply resealed.Less than one year later I cannot drive my car 300KM without having to top up the oil - this is the product of Rally Subarus " Complete tear down and rebuild. The General manger said to me, that the words used on my quote are simply nothing but my interpretation of those words. The only solution they offered was to take my car in for a higher trade in value, but I want my car fixed, which is why I brought it there to begin with and approved the quote and paid the invoice.

    Complaint: 22650356

I am rejecting this response because:

    Sep 26, 2025  kms: (Correction Sept 2024)

My car was not completed until Nov 2023  - Rally Subaru had my car for 6 weeks - car was dropped off in Sept.

    22570kms
***** kms since engine tear down
1 year and 2 days since tear down
    *Correction less than one year*

This was the first time the client had contacted us since 2023.
    * Yes it was 11 months - but thats when the oil rings showed issues*

Concern with oil consumption which first appeared at the beginning of September 2024 as per client.
For over 1 year and *****kms the client had no issues with the vehicle that we are aware of.
Upon inspection found the oil consumption issue was due to a failure of the oil control rings - which requires an engine tear down to access and fix.  Quote repair of $7728.26

*The engine was already torn down - not once was I notified that Complete tear down didnt include a major engine component

    November 28th 9am

-****** ******, General Manager, **** *****, GSM and ****** *****, Service Manager, all met with the client to discuss possible resolutions.
    - We all agreed that the price of repair was more than the vehicle was worth.  We offered to give her market value for the vehicle (disregard the work it needs) as a trade in credit to help her out.
    - The client said she would discuss it with her husband and get back to us.

Edit to add -I did respond to Rami - I wasnt interested in dealing with Rally Subaru. Multiple messages from **** did not change my opinion on the dealer - my issue is with the service department not the sales dept.

What I was quoted was a complete tear down and rebuild. - how is that performed without looking at the engines major components - Pistons.
The fact that its not mentioned on the quote or the invoice that major components are not looked at.
I learnt after my car starting having oil issues - The engine was simply resealed.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******

I am rejecting this response because:
First If I accept this response I worry BBB will step out, and conversations between myself and Rally Subaru have been in circles. I believe I need a third party to offer assistance in a solution for what would be considered Fair.

I am not opposed to a meeting - but whom am I meeting with ? Im unsure who is responding through theses emails.
    Rami ? ****** ? ****** ?
I would also like to know in advance the topics to be discussed.?
I am not willing to pay for a second Complete tear down and rebuild I have already paid for a complete tear down and rebuild - short cuts were taken and a complete tear down was not performed and not once was I notified that they were not checking the pistons.
Nor am I interested in trading in my car. I was ripped off once- I will not support a dealer in any aspect that will just go ahead and rip off twice.

So knowing that - are you stilling wanting to meet ?

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******

My 2001 subaru outback was taken into the shop for fuel system diagnosis. First I point out this vehicle was lifted 2 times by a tire shop and a local mechanic shop with no damage, reciepts can be provided as proof of what I say. Rally Subaru's mechanic lifted this old car by the body instead of the suspension system which caused the body to be crushed in 4 locations. This has now made this old but good car a write off. I was not offered an apology/compensation for the damage they caused ,instead given a bill for over $400. This was the only form of transportation I had to get my autistic daughter around. My brother is a mechanic for over 25years and told me this was a mistake by a young mechanic and the car should have never been lifted by the body.
