Eight years ago my son started Phase 1 for treating his under-bite. When I signed the contract, I saw there was a Phase 2, which I asked about and I was told "Don't worry about that." My son got braces which he had for a few years and they were removed before having room for the right upper incisor. I was the one who notified Pure Orthodontic about this, as no one was discussing the issue. Eventually, I was told "we have to move to phase 2" which cost me $3000 out of pocket after my insurance paid for phase 1. My son is turning 15 now and still wearing braces which Pure Orthodontics wanted to remove 6 months ago when his teeth were not centered. Recently, I took my younger son to Pure Orthodontics. I was told he needed braces "ASAP" otherwise he would need surgery to pull out his teeth. They created a severe sense of urgency. Their financial advisor was mixing up my husband's name with my older son's name on the contract. I had to correct that lady a few times. I requested a discount for family member and the financial advisor said "why do you care, if I give you $100, it will go to the insurance." After seeing another orthodontist, I had to take my child to his dentist to have 3 baby teeth pulled out, work on his oral hygiene and come back in about 5 weeks. So, he hasn't got his braces yet! When I booked the appointment with this new orthodontist, I informed Pure Orthodontics that my son would not be returning there, so his file should be closed. Pure Orthodontics charged my insurance $600. Then, they informed me that I own them $2000 because I missed cancelling their contract within 10 days. They said they scanned my child's teeth and ordered braces at that time. So, they did it before sending him to his dentist to pull out the baby teeth. Briefly, I do not trust this business. They create a sense of urgency, start the braces and get your money ASAP, they do not care about their clients!
