  I received a flyer in the mail for this company and upon speaking with the proprietor, learned he was completing a job for someone we knew in the neighborhood. I hired him to complete the walls and ceilings on our main floor. ***** was pleasant enough and although I felt the quote was a bit high, we proceeded. I had already purchased wall and trim paint and ceiling primer and asked that they be used. None of my paint was used. Instead, ***** colour matched the walls and purchased his own brand and used his own water-based paint for the popcorn ceilings. Upon completion, ***** announced he required cash payment. He then followed me to the bank so I could make the withdrawal. Upon inspection of the work, I realized the ceiling remained discoloured and the walls and trim were not adequately prepared, leaving certain areas rough. I also realized he had not used the paint I purchased. I reached out to ***** with these comments and he misunderstood about the paint and offered to bring me $50 back. He explained that he had used water-based paint on the ceilings and it should have been oil-based and offered to come and re-do for an additional $550. This was particularly frustrating as oil-based is the standard for textured ceilings. At this time, I chose to walk away from this vendor. Both the flyer and the invoice for Perfect Touch declares an A+ Accreditation from BBB and upon searching on the BBB site to register a complaint, I see they are not actually accredited. He also states there is a 4-year material and workmanship warranty, which clearly he had no intention of standing by. In hindsight, I did not do the appropriate due diligence before selecting this vendor. I hope to prevent others from making the same mistakes.
