    I am a tenant in the Parliament building that Simco "manages". There have been ongoing issues with the garage door that have not been resolved or even responded to adequately. The first complaint on the condo forum (visible to residents + Simco representatives) was August 27-"garage door appears to be broken. It is stuck open and leaning to one side." Oct 16- the garage door broke again and there was another post in the forum, with other residents acknowledging their frustration with repeated malfunction. Nov 11-the garage door was broken again and another resident posted in the condo forum "this is happening way too often." Some of these malfunctions resulted in people not being able to leave the parkade and missing important commitments/work.

    Nov 14th, the garage door did not open completely and it scratched the roof of my partner's new truck. The truck had cleared the clearance bar AND the garage door numerous times prior to this so it was NOT an issue with the truck being too high. I posted in the condo forum about this and again other residents commented that it was "not acceptable at all" -the door should have been replaced. No one from Simco management acknowledged the post or followed up with me.

    Nov 21, I called the SImco rep. for this building seeking a solution. He blamed it on the truck being too high and admitted that nothing was being done. I asked that they look into it and update me following as my partner was still unable to get into the parkade without the door scratching his roof. I heard nothing back. I called our SImco rep. and left a voicemail Nov 23 and got no response. My landlord also spoke with him with no resolution. I called Simco Main Office Dec 5, left a message for the manager, never got a call back. I left another voicemail Dec 7 with no call back. I am seeking resolution for a) the garage door being lower than clearance bar and b) the management company compensating my partner for the subsequent damage to his new vehicle.

    Please see below clearly indicating that Simco Management oversees this building and has also been involved in previous garage door repairs which is what my complaint surrounds. I have no receipt or invoice because they haven’t compensated for the damage to my partner’s vehicle. We also tested the garage door again recently and it is still lower than the clearance bar and would have scraped the vehicle.
