I'm an author who purchased 4 editing slots for $200 each from ***** *** *** via "Damn Good Books Publishing" for $800.00 total on November 10, 2021 (invoice attached.) This was for my pen name, ** ******. I submitted one manuscript for one of the editing slots, which was returned months after the quoted lead time, as you can see from the attached conversation between ************************ (me) and *****. While that wasn't a rush job, she promised return dates that weren't made, then failed to respond to messages for weeks at a time. After the lack of communication, I request a refund from ***** *** *** "Damn Good Books" for the 3 unused editing slots, totaling $600. She agreed. Unfortunately, she didn't refund me despite follow-up requests. After she stopped responding to messages sent from my ** ****** pen name, I wrote into her website's contact form using another pen name of mine (**** ***) to see if she would respond to new authors, and she did reply. There's a conversation attached from there, where she agrees to pay me in September, which again, has come and gone. I apologize that that specific string is hard to follow. The messages are loading str*****y in Gmail. To date, ***** has not refunded the payment despite agreeing to do so numerous times and despite my attempts at being kind and understanding. Each time a new date is set, she fails to meet it and doesn't respond to messages. ****** and my card company cannot help due to the time window expiring, but ***** still owes me $600 for work not performed. She accepted an $800 payment for services from me, failed to deliver the portion she did do on time, and hasn't issued the agreed-upon return. I worry that she continues to run a business offering author services yet operates in such a way. At this point, I need ***'s help in getting a resolution, as I'm getting nowhere. Thank you, ****** ****** **** ******* *** *********** ****
