I purchased a gift card ($280.00) from the above business to be used for a beauty service within a set timeframe, which the seller was aware of. The week of my appointment, the seller closed their business and I did not receive the service and I had to pay another business for the same service. The seller did not contact me personally to inform me that they had closed their business and I found out over ********* after a friend sent me the information. The seller has yet to reach out to me personally since the closure and has not issued any information the past three months regarding their business status.

As of right now, I have a gift card that I have no use for and could not use since the business is closed. I believe that the seller sold me the gift card as a **** to collect money before closing their business. I say this because from January to March (including the week they closed), the seller advertised a high number (perhaps weekly?) gift card deals like the one I had purchased. I believe they had planned to close before issuing these gift card deals and used the opportunity to collect money for services that they did not intend to deliver. In this sense, the seller was being fraudulent and misleading to the pubic and their customers. I would like a refund for what I believe was a **** gift card purchase and an investigation in to the gift card sales leading up to their closure.

    Thank you.

Please find attached the information that I had sent in to my credit card company after they closed their business.

Glowface Medispa is the new “rebranded” name for ****** ****** *** Nurse *** operates this business, and on March 8, 2023 she shared the sudden closure of ****** ****** *** At this point in time, I had purchased three resurfacing facials for the price of $472.50. I had only received one treatment, and my future appointments were cancelled. At the time of the closure of ****** ****** ***, she announced she would reopen at a later date and all pre-paid services would be accepted at the new “Glowface” location. She also stated she would be selling off all of her skincare items. I emailed her asking if I could use my remaining balance to purchase skincare items, but I did not receive a response. On April 1st, 2023 Nurse *** sent an email to her clients stating she would be reopening on May 15, 2023 at the new location (the provided address for the complaint), and she opened her booking website. At this time, I booked an appointment for May 24, 2024 to hopefully use my remaining facials. Today, I started to look for a confirmation that my appointment still existed, but the Glowface webpage is unavailable and the business can now longer be found on Google. After discussing this with a colleague who is also a client, she recalled Nurse *** sharing an instagram story about all future appointments being cancelled until further notice. I did not receive any notification that my appointment was cancelled, and after trying multiple times to contact Glowface, I do believe I no longer have an appointment. I wish to seek resolution to receive a refund of my money, as it is a very large amount to have tied up for many months, with a business I believe does not plan to reopen. I also wish to warn future customers of this situation so hopefully it can be avoided again.
