    I hired this butcher shop to butcher an animal, as I had many times before. I paid the invoice for $1008.69 and went to pick up the finished product on July 13, 2024. It was Saturday and no manager or owner available. I had two issues with the meat: I had ordered and paid for 3 flavours of jerky to be made, however I was given one box with 154 packages of jerky that were not labelled with flavours or ingredients. Also, the employee working that day was unable to find all the organs. I discussed this the following week with the manager who was confident it could remain frozen while being re-packaged and that they could identify each flavour with packages open and label it correctly. I had also been in contact with owner who agreed. They also said they would have my organs ready to pick up. It was confirmed they received the organs with the remainder of the carcass from the slaughterhouse and I saw them and discussed with the manager the day he cut the rest of the ******* took several calls and weeks for them to complete this. I arrived to pick up 154 packages of jerky, and organs. The jerky was not even frozen at that time, it was labelled with flavours that weren't ordered, visibly different jerky had the same labels, and the employee working could not find my organs. He phoned the manager or owner, then provided me with a box containing a heart, a small amount of liver, tongue, and a sticker saying "bison" on the heart. I had no bison. Employee urged me to take it anyway. I left the meat and emailed the owner requesting he pay for my losses. He has agreed, but it's been texts, calls, emails, which are ignored or I'm told he hasn't had time to e-transfer.Importance of label errors and thawing while re-packing: food safety, quality, and food with unknown ingredients and allergens.I sell jerky for $8/pack x 154 packs, tongue $5, liver $7/lb x 6 lbs, heart $5/lb x 4 lbs, oxtail $5, kidneys $5. I'm owed $1309.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.  It actually surprised me they responded to you and did send money.  Of course, they sent less than the estimate amount ($1284).  I'm not sure it's worth dragging this on over $25 and consider myself lucky they sent what they did.  

     

    I guess the threat of your involvement is all it took.  So I greatly appreciate what you do since it made a huge difference to me and I'm sure it does to thousands of people in similar situations.  Thank you!
