We bought a trailer from Western RV in May of 2023. we picked up the unit in May As soon as we were in possession of it we started noticing issues with the unit. After many complaints I was told (Can't you just deal with it and try to enjoy your summer) by the service manager. After the summer it was brought to them for the entire winter to fix the unit. We had to keep contacting them to make sure there was work being done on it and if the unit would be ready for the following camping season. We were told that they damaged our awning on the trailer when they were putting it in their shop but we didn't have to worry about it because they replaced it. We finally got the trailer from them and brought it home to be loaded and ready to be moved to our summer lot. When we got it out to our lot we started noticing things wrong yet again. We contacted them and they said that they could send out a tech for the small stuff like our power recliners that we have had problems with since we purchased the unit. They told us that they looked at them and that there was nothing wrong with them. We had to get the tech to come out to look at our bedroom slide because it was clearly water damaged. The tech even stated this as soon as he got out of his vehicle he said he could tell it was water damage. He also had to go inside my camper to take the whole motor off of my recliners so we could push them in so we could close up out trailer to bring it home for the end of the season. he left the motor and all screws on the floor cause he said that he would fix that when it was brought in. We waited for them to contact us to tell us what we had to do with the unit and when we had to bring it in. No one contacted us until I called them in Jan/Feb 2025. They told us that they needed more pictures for the insurance at that time. Now they will not fix it because it out of warranty they say and we have to go through our insurance. So much more that I don't have the room to write.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/04/2025

The customer purchased their unit from *************************************** RV on May *** of 2023 has they indicated. During the summer of 2023 we sent a technician to their campsite twice (at no charge to the customer) to address warranty issues that they reported. Each time the issues were addressed. In the fall of 2023 when their unit was returned to the dealership for service, the awning was damaged when the trailer was being moved to begin service work. The customer was informed of the incident and the awning was repaired at no charge to the customer. In August of 2024 we again sent a technician to the customer site for service. At this time the technician did notice an issue that needed to be addressed. We informed the customer that they would need to return the trailer to the dealership as this was not work we could investigate and repair onsite. A timely repair would be important to avoid further damage and escalation of the issue. Our ****************** also started the warranty authorization process with the manufacturer, but we needed the trailer returned to enable us to get the proper pictures and documentation for a warranty submission. In February of 2025 the customer finally returned the trailer to the dealership. Service submitted the proper info (pictures) to warranty but the manufactured denied the claim. The manufacturer indicated that this this was due to lack of proper seal maintenance being performed by the customer. The manufacturer denied the claim but Western RV Country did offer to do the repair at a reduced rate.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

We were told that Western RV will have to get more information on the warranty of the trailer and that they would get back to us about what was going to be fixed. They did not tell us that we had to bring the trailer in right away. If they already knew about the issues why would it matter. They did not ever contact us at all about what we had to do. This is why I again had to reach out to them in Jan/Feb about the trailer and what they were going to to about the issues. Its was at that time that I called that the lady in the service department said "I was thinking about your trailer the other day". STILL no one from Western RV ever contacted us! We had snow a few days after that conversation and we wanted to wait for it to all clear up before we brought the trailer in. They are putting everything off on the warranty people and even gave me a number for them for me to call myself. I did call the lady that pretty much told me that it was on Western RV and not them. Both Western RV and the Cameo warranty people just pass the blame back and forth. That Tech that came also took my couch apart and left all parts on the floor staring that he would fix it when it goes in for repair because he was sure that it would be covered. Something that I have told them that didn't work right right from the beginning of when I bought the trailer. I have all of the service papers if you would like to see them. On my last service agreement it says that it will not be covered as I didn't purchase extra furniture coverage. So thy are just going to leave it in pieces? They guy took the motor off and left all parts sitting on the floor. Yes they did replace my awning "at no charge to me", why would it even be a charge to me if Western RV are the ones that damaged it in the first place.  You also replaced it with an awning that is no where near the colour of the one that you damaged!
