On May 31, 2023, I contacted Max Locksmith Services to open a door inside my house in Red Deer at about 9:30PM. Over the phone I was told there would be a $69 service fee, to which I said okay, & that the locksmith would tell me the total cost afterwards. The gentleman came, opened my door (took about 3 minutes), then told me it would be $125. The machine I paid on also reflected $125, & an online receipt was sent over text. Note: my phone was locked in that room so I called off of my friend’s phone, & the receipt was sent to that number. This friend was also present when the locksmith told me the cost & when i paid. On June 2, 2023, I received a $203 charge on my card from Door Max. When my friend sent me the online receipt, they had changed it to show $203. I’m extremely angry & upset as that $78 overcharge would have been my grocery money, & I’m pretty tight on cash. They stole $78 from me when they had originally charged me $125. Upon speaking with other customers of theirs, it became quickly apparent that this was not the first time they have ******* people out of their money. All of the reviews on this company say the same thing: This company is a **** & I would like my money back.
