I hired Red Leaf Roofing last year to re-shingle my roof, as well as repair dead valley of the roof above my garage as water was leaking into garage. I have attached the invoice which shows total amount paid and that the invoice included extra charges to repair the dead valley. The job was completed in October of 2023 over several days, as the weather was not favourable for roofing as it was snowing, and very windy. This summer, after a rainfall, water was once again pooled in my garage. I notified Red Leaf Roofing of this and asked them to come and repair the job as it wasn't properly done last year. The first response I received from them was that they have done all that they could, and they did not specialize in this type of repair and I was to find a contractor that did. They offered me a $*** pre-paid ***** which isn't even half of what it would cost me to repair this. I let them know this was not a fair or reasonable response given that they had been hired and paid to complete this repair, and if they couldn't do it, they should be finding a contractor that specializes in this. I was informed that they had a contractor and they would book him in. This was * weeks ago and I have yet to hear back from Red Leaf Roofing. Email string attached with further information on our exchanges. I have a roof that is still leaking water and fall is now upon us. I need this roofing repair to be completed, as it is delaying my ability to get my garage ceiling remediated and repaired from the water damage.

    Business Response

    Date: 10/09/2024

    Good Morning,

Red Leaf Roofing advised the homeowner that we would do our best to send another contractor at the earliest time to see if they could repair this. We have already attempted the repair on * separate occasions, and as neither option worked we explained that this is potentially out of our scope of expertise. The contractor we are working with is extremely busy as it is roofing season, and we have not had a chance to being him in yet, however we have been in communication with both the contractor and the homeowner. The last email I sent to the homeowner was not replied to until Friday, September 6th, and so no scheduling has occurred as of yet.

In addition, with a complaint now being filed, we will need this removed before we proceed as we have been doing what we can from our end, but if there is a complaint against us, there isn't the incentive to hire at our cost, a contractor to complete an expensive repair, especially as we have already tried to repair it once entirely at our expense.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because there is no solution proposed or repair completed on my job.  There are also several errors and inconsistencies in their message.

On August **, I was told that the contractor they wanted to look at the job should be able to do so by Aug **.  On Aug **, I followed up to see if there was a date and time.  They then let me know that they would need to push this another week to August **.

On August **, I emailed again looking for confirmation of date and time. * days later on Sept * they responded indicating that the contractor should be done the job by Sept * and was hopefully going to be able to come and look at the repair needed before that date.  The email indicates they would let me know once that was confirmed.  There is nothing to suggest in this email that a reply from me was needed, and it is not clear to me how my delayed response impacted any scheduling?

I did not hear from the business on Friday, Sept * and no contractor has stopped in to look at my repair.  I once again followed up via email on Sept * asking for a date and time that the contractor would be by to review my repair needed and have not heard back from the business as of todays date - Sept **.  I have attached the email string with the latest correspondence.

I just want my roof to get repaired since red leaf roofing has already been paid for the job, but the job is not complete.   If you are not able to do this repair, that should have been communicated to me when you came to give me an estimate to do the work last year.  Offering a $*** **** gift card doesnt cover half the cost of what you received to do this job.   I am happy to remove the BBB complaint once a fair resolution has been reached.

    Sincerely,
