On August 13th I met with the movers Maki & Sons Moving at my home in St. Albert. I hired them to move my entire house into storage while I continued to house hunt. There was one piece of furniture I asked them to take apart before they moved it and they refused and decided to partially take it apart to make it more manageable, but also leaving it vulnerable to damage. While they were moving it it was wobbling around and, since it was press board material, I knew damage was inevitable. They still decided to move it without taking it apart. The piece of furniture was a day bed that was very heavy and large. When they put it into the storage unit they stacked boxes and containers inside of it and on top of it which caused much more damage than from just moving it. I purchased moving blankets for them to use to wrap my furniture, which they didn't use for most of my furniture. They used theirs to move my stuff, but unwrapped and jammed my furniture into the storage unit unwrapped. I told them to please not force my belongings into the storage unit, because I would rent a second unit to avoid any damage. They still decided to force everything into it trying to make it all fit taking even more time than they already had. I still needed to rent a second unit for a few boxes, which was preferred because it would have been much more cost effective than all the damage incurred because of jamming it all into one. So, even though I was skeptical about their ability and saw how they treated my belongings I felt I needed to hire them again to move me into my new home so they could see the damage and be held responsible for it. Multiple items missing. Daybed so damaged it's not usable. Some degree of damage on most of my furniture. Seth came to my house to take the broken pieces and said he would "make it right". He makes excuses and does nothing to make anything right. He knows the cost of replacement and knows he's responsible for the damages but will not do anything about it.

We agree there was damaged that occured. It is a rare thing and something that needs to be addressed. We do have a repair guy. However he is not a full time employee. When the accident happened he was just about to leave on a vacation that he had planned for over a year. When our repair guy returned he had to go do his work shift in fort Mac before he could come do repairs. This cause is to take longer than usual to get repairs done. I would have tried to step up personally but I was in a head on collision with a semi truck at the same time..after the she got upset we took so long, "and I understand the frustration" I was told that she no longer wanted me to fix anythinf and that she wants a free move instead.  Unfortunately that is not a option. It still cost lots to pay wages, gas, and truck fees.. while I agree that some damage did occure. The damage is all repairable there for it is not warranted to buy knew items. We would need 2 days to properly fix the items she has a problem with. And if a repair is no longer a option we are prepared to pay $0.60 a lb. That is standard rate through the industry. However most companies won't even cover anything made with partical board. But we are still willing to cover it.  We apologize for the damages. We had new employees start with us that did not work out. Let us know if you would rather the items repaired or if we should talk about $0.60 a lb for compensation
