  I've used this company for about 3 decades and always been happy with the service. I had them in today to look at a gas fireplace and while they were here to do a service of the other 2 gas fireplaces and the furnace. The technician was good and the work was fine. there were no part replaced and the units each were tidied up which took about 3 hours.I was surprised to see a bill just short of $900, nearly $300/ per hour. I paid it thinking it was my own fault for not asking before the work was done, but Id never had an experience like this before with the same work. Had I know I likely would have split the work into 2 separate visits to avoid large bill. It seems to me there ought to be some limit on this type of billing by the company. An example would be a reduced rate for more than 2 or 3 units in a single house since there are considerable efficiencies beyond what in factored on in their "add-on" rate. I cant see get my head around $300/hour to clean and tidy these units. I spoke with the company later and they explained their billing and rising costs. I accept that I did not ask ahead and that costs do rise but there is a point where it seems to touch on absurd and I think this rate should really have been curbed via some volume of work rate from the company to make this work reasonably affordable. ****** learned is be sure you know the rates, don't rely on past history.
