On March 31st, 2025, I hired ***** ******** owner of Iron Horse Mechanical for services of an oil change on my custom Harley ******** motorcycle. What happened following the service; the motorcycle exhibited oil leak, smoke on the right and screech on the left of the engine upon first start up. Transferred the motorcycle to ****************** my normal mechanic. Upon inspection of ***** ********** oil change work on the motorcycle it was noted that there was a damaged oil filter installed on the motorcycle with black marker to hide the markings. Insufficient amount of oil, 2.3L, oil cooler adapter bolt unnecessarily removed, oil filter adapter key damaged. The repairs were; replace the oil filter, add appropriate amount of oil, order new adapter key, rebuild oil filter adapter. I demand ***** ******** resolve these issues by reimbursing me for all necessary repairs, service, refund the full cost of the repair and compensate for all costs and damages totalling $569.21.

Carole Bird is not in our system, nor documented for any Services done at our shop. But did have her motorcycle stored here for the winter months, still owing $120 a month for the months of November, December 2024, and January, February, March of 2025. Totaling amount of $600 ( refused to pay ) claims she has no money due to being on disability.

After slandering my personal name and company name at several local hockey games in Chilliwack, then 2 months later claiming there are issues with her motorcycle.... seems crooked and Shady

I am rejecting this response because: As we both know, the work was agreed upon and completed, and payment was made in cash via e-transfer. Our conversations and agreements were documented via text messages, which I have retained. It's concerning to hear you now claim I'm "not in your system" and there's not record of the service. Regardless of your internal documentation, our text messages and the work done on my motorcycle are clear proof of the transaction and your involvement. Additionally, the motorcycle was damaged while in your care. I expect you take responsibility for the damage caused during the time it was at your shop.

I want to be absolutely clear: I never made any agreement with Chris O'Connor to store my motorcycle at his shop. I have no knowledge of any such arrangement, and there is no documentation or evidence to support your claim.

Given that no agreement was made, I am not responsible for any storage fees. Please stop making false claims that I owe you money, as they are completely unfounded.

If you believe otherwise, I suggest you provide written proof of any agreement, which, to my knowledge does not exist.

    Sincerely,

    Carole Bird

It's very concerning to us to hear that you were grasping at straws to get money because you claim to be on disability and nothing was done through the company to help you. I helped you as a friend of Tim's,And when you and him Brought your motorcycle to my shop to store for the winter And said you would pay me to work on it When you got the money( wich you never did, because of your addiction to Buying off of Facebook Marketplace) The verbal agreement of it staying there For the winter Because of your " normal mechanic " Was losing his mind And you said He was charging you for things That you had said you would already paid, Which all sounded fishy. Now the same things are Coming out About me And my shop.

We are refusing to reimburse these accusations, never have we ever damaged filters when installing on motorcycles with a rubber band filter wrench, to us it looks like the customer Harold bird damaged it somehow and tried to cover it up with a felt pen. And whatever leaks she claims to have or on her own dime. The bike sat here never leaked the whole time and then all of a sudden 2 months later, Carol bird makes false accusations towards our company because she has nothing better to do than try to get money from fraudulent claims. The money Carol bird owes us for storage of her bike being at Iron Horse mechanical shop for the winter months she can put that towards the money she claims to have spent on fixing her motorcycle. We don't store motorcycles for charity. We try not to deal with scam artists, this one slipped by us. To us what looks like happened here was after taking her motorcycle home, Carol bird may have tried to do something on her own, messed it up and because we would not do any more repairs for her she tried to put the blame on us at a different shop. And we don't understand why she would bring her motorcycle to us when she uses her so-called "normal mechanic" to do all her work on her " custom Harley" and now we realized it was Carol Bird's way of scamming her way out of paying winter storage claiming she's on disability and can't afford it yet she can spend money left right and Center on a enclosed trailer converting it to a camper. That we spent countless hours towards and never got paid for. So we feel it's pretty fair you take your loss for the damages that were done however they were done. There were no damages when it was in possession of our shop. Thank you and best wishes.

I am rejecting this response because:

    Dear Chris
    O’Connor,
    I am
writing in response to your recent e-mail containing false statements, baseless
    accusations, and inappropriate personal remarks.
Filter damage: Your claim that I caused damage to the oil filter is both unsubstantiated and untrue. The filter was damaged when I retrieved the motorcycle from your shop - a fact documented with photographs and statements. I stand by my original complaint. If you have legitimate evidence that proves otherwise, I invite you to share it.
False Accusations and Harassment: Your suggestion that I filed “fraudulent claim” and have “nothing better to do” is an unprofessional and defamatory. These statements are untrue, damaging, and may constitute harassment. They will be documented for any future legal or consumer protection proceedings.
Storage Fee Claim: I never agreed to or signed any storage contract. If you are alleging otherwise, please provide a copy of that agreement. Without such proof, any attempt to demand payment for storage is without merit.
Disability Discrimination: Your comments regarding my disability and financial situation are discriminatory, inappropriate, and legally questionable. I consider them a violation of my rights under applicable anti-discrimination laws.
Regarding the Timing of My Complaint: You mentioned that I did not report the damage until two months later. That is correct - and for a valid reason. It took that long to schedule an inspection and repair due to the busy season and the need to order parts from overseas. This delay was entirely out of my control and is well documented. The timing does not change the fact that the damage occurred while the bike was in your possession. Your attempt to discredit my claim based on this delay is both misleading and irrelevant.
    Next Steps:
    I request
that you cease all personal attacks and unsubstantiated claims immediately.
    I am still
open to resolving this manner amicably, but if this harassment continues, I
will be forced to escalate the matter.
    Please
consider this your final opportunity to resolve this professionally. If you
would like to settle the matter without further action, I suggest you provide
reimbursement for the damages or purpose of a mediation.

    Sincerely,

    Carole Bird
